Electronic Stability Control problem #1

The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the brakes were not functioning properly. The contact had to pump the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The cruise control, abs, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was diagnosed with a failure with the electronic stabilizing program control unit. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 84,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that the coolant warning light was frequently illuminated due to low coolant. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the engine hose and other engine parts were replaced. Despite the repair, the coolant light returned soon after the initial repair. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where the failure was linked to NHTSA campaign number: 22v168000 (exterior lighting, electronic stability control, engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph the instrument cluster had begun to flicker and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated he had power steering and brakes and pulled off of the highway and placed the vehicle into park (p). The vehicle would not restart and the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed and had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 22v168000 (exterior lighting, electronic stability control, engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

The contact owns a 2009 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that she had experienced several electrical failures with the vehicle which include the power seat and windows, the parking brake, the exterior lighting, and the air bag warning lights. The dealer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. Upon investigation, the contact linked that failure to NHTSA campaign number: 22v168000( exterior lighting, electronic stability control, engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

Noticed a recall for this part.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Eis steering lock battery fail. $12 battery dies and eis stays in lock position key doesn't respond to ignition switch or car unlocking doors.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Took car in for airbag recall, week later the car wont unlock, had to pay $50 to get in, was told battery had 12. 4 amps, car wont turn over, electronic systems not engaging, alarm goes off, replaced battery $160checked fuses and bought $25, nothing now having to tow back to Mercedes Benz of chandler that did my "recalls" out of pocket. The recall service messed it up. The exact thing as in complaint 212.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

I have a mb C300 2008 the car never had an issue until I brought it in for a airbag recall 2 weeks later I get an srs malfunction, esp and abs failure car doesn't turn on next day the car turns on and engine light goes on, then lights stayed on even after car was off next day lights went off while driving in dark making for hazardous and quite scary situation mb is doing these recalls but jeopardizing the overall integrity of car I even replaced battery but this still occurred car was rendered undrivable and stuck in my driveway and had to have it towed and pay $380 just to look at it even though I told them they caused damage there is no way a perfectly running car coincidentally has major electrical issues post recall (they replaced entire stash board and steering wheel cover).

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

While I was travelling on highway, I got an alert about collision system being inoperable, I took my car to the dealership, it was investigated and was told to me that I had an accident? I did not. I am thinking it was some kind of an electrical/radar sensor issue? it did not affect my speed or ability to accelerate.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Sudden acceleration after pulling very slowly into parking space. Almost stopped. Car suddenly accelerated, jumped a curb from, went up an embankment and hit a tree. Was able to reverse and back down. It will take a month for body work. Notified mercedes dealer. They will run diagnostics on Jan. 7.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, when the front driver headrest air bag deployed. The contact stated air bag, front right srs malfunction service required and front left srs malfunction service required warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated she heard an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the headrest that deployed. The contact stated she could smell and saw smoke on the rear headrest. The contact was able to park on the shoulder of the road and decided to continue to drive to her residence. The contact sustained neck and head injuries, but has not seek medical attention. No police report has been reported. The contact stated she had recall NHTSA campaign number: 17v177000 (electrical system, air bags) completed previously on this vehicle. The vehicle was taken to local dealer mercedes-benz of massapequa located at 101 sunrise hwy, amityville, NY 11701, (631) 213-2023, where it was diagnosed with needing 2 front headrest to be replaced and to reprogram the electronically system. The vehicle has not been replaced as of yet. The manufacturer has been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 140,000. Dp.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

"takata recall" when I was driving after a oil change, I heard a noise that sounded like someone hit my car. I was scared and shaky so I pulled over could see anything but I heard a ticking noise. Then I realized the head rest Mini air bag blew up and the wiring inside the head rest was burning. This happened while I was driving. I could have got into an accident. I had to pull over right where all the traffic was because my hands were shaking and I didn't know what to do with the burning smell. I had my hazards on and people went around me. Then all kinds of alerts went off on my car. I only had it for a year and a half it shouldn't do that. Something is really wrong and this is dangerous while someone is driving. My tires and all of a sudden the muffler is making noises now too what is going on with this car. It's treated well I'm scared to drive it now. I'm still making payments on it. It's was for me fairly new and still good, do I thought. I'm very disappointed and need some answers. I was told that maybe it's the eps control unit but haven't went to mercedes dealer yet because I'm discouraged about this car and I haven't been feeling good.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

12/6/17 airbag frontal,8/31/17 electrial system starter assembly,8/31/17 engine and engine cooling engine,4/21/17 electrical system software and 4/21/17 airbag frontal sensor/control module. Recall on these parts.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

The rings used to determine wheel speed for the stability system fail, this has happened twice to my car and can result in the brakes being applied without warning. Also takata air bags have not been replaced in the three years after the recall.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

When accelerating with my mercedes C300, the car is actually loosing power. The effect is reinforced as the controlling system is blocking the acceleration. Result is that the car is braking suddenly instead of accelerating. It is particularly dangerous when trying to pass another car on the high way as the car will brake. I almost experienced twice an accident on the highway due to this acceleration/bake issue. I brought my car to an independent mercedes repair center. They confirmed to me that mercedes issued a technical bulletin for an electrical cable replacement due to that failure. The issue described on the tb is identical to the experience issue. I contacted my mercedes dealership service department. They informed me there is no recall and don't consider this issue a safety issue. They won't replace the electrical cable unless I paid for the "service". The cable has not been damaged or disconnected. It is simply faulty and mercedes knows the issue as they issued a tb for the vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

My vehicle was running superior, no warning signals or straining when powering on. Parked car then an hour later tried turning vehicle on and will not turn on for any reason just radio worked. Found out it was steering module needed to be replaced for a hefty $1100. Had the car for only 3 months and barely used it. I believe it's a recall on these issues.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

Takata recall , eis , esl seized up and car won't start anymore , common problem with this car and repair is costly should be recalled since it's a manufactured defect and not caused by the user, this problem can leave anyone stranded in the worst of situations and it can seize up while vehicle is in motion causing accidents and danger to the driver and passenger.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

Radio, bluetooth telephony command control stopped working (error message says 'device unavailable'); on Mar 19 2018, Mercedes Benz dealer (chicago) representative said the car needs software update but could not say when the update will be available. Lack of hands-free telephony makes driving unsafe.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

My navigation and central control panel not functioning and freezing with message "please wait". Caused so many safety problems, including backup camera not working, temperature control and airflow screen not showing up, bluetooth phone system not working to take hand-free calls, and no radio station is working and/or only one unknown radio station tuneup but can't switch to another station at all to listen highway traffic information. It's been already 3 weeks and I visited dealership and called Mercedes Benz customer services but no help/solution available so far. Asked me to just wait few more days.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

The power steering suddenly stop working while I am driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

Steering wheel lock keeping car from starting has happen numerous times to me any many people with benz.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

They never have the part I have 2010 Mercedes Benz c 300 I need it fix, the lights codes are always, going on and off. Check ingine light. No accedint . . Just recall and need it fix passenger air bag.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

Takata recall, brake power steering malfunction abs, esp, ets, srs. Esb,ebr flashes on and off on message center. Then vehicle started to drive very rough and bumpy, then I had no control of the steering wheel and it totally locked thank god iwas able to try and roll it to the side of the road and the car just totally went black and died, no headlights and I have to have it towed, waiting to get the diagnosis from the dealer. But I have done some research on line and have seen hundreds of the same complaints from all over the USA and even oversees that it has to do with the eis. This saddens me to see all the same complaints and I thought that we were protected as consumers by the government, and the NHTSA against major auto manufacturer such as mbusa to call out these deadly defects before it consumed innocence peoples lives. But it is obvious that our lives means nothing to these people, because with all these identical complaints this is a defect that should be address and mbusa should have the decency to take responsibility and admit that this is a manufacturer defect and do a recall. This is just too much complaints on this problem and no one seem to be taking this matter serious, and we as the consumers are being stuck with these major repair bills running in the thousand. What is the purpose in making these reports when no one seems to care. How many complaints do you have to receive on the same issue for the NHTSA and the fair trade act to stand up for us, in October of 2016 this same vehicle self accelerate and crash in to two other vehicles causing a major accident and when reported to mbusa they claim they did there investigation and nothing was wrong with my vehicle, they place the blame on me . Daimler ag would not believe what there prestigious company as become.

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

Car was driving very well suddenly flashes on message center power steering malfunction srs, abs, ets, esb, ebr esp in operative and it keeps flashing when car is in motion, then disappear when ignition is off, I have notice several complaints on your website with this same issues with this same year, model and other mercedes,a week a go I also receive a message to check brake pad wear before this message came up. I replace brake pads and rotos, and I am also being told it could also be my brake light switch or speed sensors, all was replace still as message. There is so many complaints with these messages that this should be considered a recall and the customers are being stuck with the repairs. It is obvious that it is a defect with these vehicles it is just too many. And no onw seems to be standing behind the consumers. Mbusa is a major company and they are getting away with murder. Do you have to have major fatality before they do something about this problem. Does saving money means more than peoples lives it is just too many complaints on the same problems that common sense cant tell them it is a defect and the nhts should step up for us and demand a recall. How many complaints do you have to have in order for mbusa make this a recall.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

My mercedes was running good all day then when I went to the mall and came back back to start my car it had no power. We try jumping the car nothing. Use a different key nothing. . It won't start I had to call a tow truck . I took it to mercedes dealer just to look at it $300 . . Now they say it's the key ingotion that needs to replace cost me $1200+. . I just bought the car 7 months ago I have no warrant. . I google the problem and it's a common problem that ppl have plz investigate this problem cuz it cost a lot of money to fix and I'm out of a car for a week . Thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

Sensor for side view mirrors continue to malfunction providing inaccurate information and locking on (light) and not showing when needed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

Check engine light came on after vehicle inspection I returned to the dealership. Mercedes benz houston-greenway plaza did cam shaft solenoid work cost $500. Roughly a week later I got stranded at work. I was able to take to get it to start again and took it to repair shop now its $1,346. 29 for engine computer work.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

Parked car, went into store, came back out, started car, ebr, abs and esp inoperative message came on along with power steering malfunction.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

Fault shows up on dash board-"power steering malfunction, see operators manual". This fault stays on when the car is in stationary mode & or in motion. Vehicle seems to operate properly, all fluid levels have been verified specially "power steering fluid".

Electronic Stability Control problem #30

Esp control module as I was driving on the highway, specifically getting off the interstate on a curved road, all of a sudden the following message/code illuminated across my dashboard, "brake" ebr abs esp inoperative. I wasn't sure what this meant and I was extremely alarmed and nervous. As soon as I could I brought it into the shop and the technician told me it wasn't a brake issue, it was a faulty electronic stability control panel that needed to be replaced. The technician told me that he had just replaced these in about 4 other vehicles. Same exact problem. After doing research, it is a major safety concern because it reads the wheel data from the sensors as well as the abs module which prevents traction and slippage when driving on the road, when making sharp turns, or even turning left or right. The car seems to fishtail. It also prevents stability on the road in the event of a crash. I've also noticed it has affected other areas of the car such as the turn signal, cruise control mechanism, steering column and starting up the car has also been an issue. I've had to turn the ignition switch a couple of times to get the car started. The car is also driving rougher than usual. This is a major concern for us because I am a single mother and I have a nine year old son who drives with me frequently. I'm worried about our safety. Not to mention our front driver and passenger takata airbags still have a recall that have yet to be dealt with. It has been well over a year and the problem still hasn't been resolved. This esp control module costs $1,500 to replace and I cannot afford this. I'm driving around in a ticking time bomb just waiting for something to happen. It is a major concern and needs to be addressed immediately. Thank you for your time and I certainly hope you take this seriously and place this on the recall list to avoid a bad situation.

Electronic Stability Control problem #31

Esl/eis failure. When the key is inserted the car will not start. Lights work but windows and dash message are not working.

Electronic Stability Control problem #32

This vehicle had a failure upon start that eliminated a number of safety features. When I started the car, I received three errors that the following were disabled: electrical brake (abs, emergency brake, traction control), cruise control, and power steering. Loss of these made the car unsafe to drive.

Electronic Stability Control problem #33

Last week I drove my daughter to school. Then I went to the gas station and turned the car off. When I tried to start the car to leave, it would not start. It did not do anything. I could not even roll the windows up. The car did nothing other than say "remove ignition key. " the battery was tested and fine. It had just been replaced 1 month ago. The tow truck driver brought it to my mechanic who then said it had to be brought to the dealer. The mercedes dealer said it was the eis/steering switch. The cost will be $1900. I've called other mechanics. No-one can fix it because mercedes has the parts and coding exclusively. This is a lot of money and with the amount of complaints it should be a recall. Last year my car also experienced the srs light malfunction. I brought it to the dealer and this was also another huge expense. The dealer did not take the responsibility of a recall. They acted like it was a big surprise.

Electronic Stability Control problem #34

While I was driving on the highway & local roads, the car suddenly became unresponsive and started showing messages that all systems are inoperative. Pre safe functions limited, and inoperative traction control light comes on along with the blindspot not activated, esp system was off as well. The car started slowing down and had to be pulled over to turn off and on. This has happened 3-4 times and on busy roads, car is sent to the shop and only has 27000 miles. I am scared to drive as I could die in a car accident because of this shit car. Mercedes need to recall this ASAP, if they are not then we should open a class action lawsuit against them as they are playing with our lives.

Electronic Stability Control problem #35

I parked the car, and turned it off completely. When I returned to the car, they key fob would only turn the dashboard lights on, but the car will not start. The steering wheel is locked, and I cannot change the gear from "p". A message would appear "remove key from ignition" whenever the door is open. I have searched and it appears to be a very common problem in these models, where the eis or esl fails for no reason. The qoutes for this repair range from $1000 to $3000. I had to tow the car to my apartment, and now I have to tow the car to the dealership because they are the only ones who can solve this issue and reprogram it after installing the new parts.

Electronic Stability Control problem #36

When I returned to my car in the parking lot after grocery shopping in the evening, the car would not start. The radio and lights on the dashboard worked and the seat moved, but the engine would not start. I had this car checked not too long ago and everything was fine, but the car just decided not to work suddenly. This is especially scary for a female stranded in a public parking lot at night. I did not get any warning messages before the incident. I had to call roadside assistance and try jump starting it first, which wasn't the problem as the battery was fully charged. I ended up having to tow the car early next morning because the dealer was closed and had to take a cab home. When I went to the dealer and stated all the "symptoms", mb knew right off the bat what the problem was, which to me is alarming. They told me they are 99% sure it is either electronic ignition switch or electronic steering lock problem and it would cost me $1200 to repair it. It obviously is a very common issue. They are very well aware of it, yet they are not doing nothing about it, as (they say) it is not a safety problem. How is this not a safety problem when the driver doesn't get a slightest warning or even a message that the car won't start and will leave you stranded wherever you are? as a young female living in a city without friends and family to help out, especially at night in a public space, this is quite frightening. I almost had a panic attack, because I didn't know what to do and never had to call roadside assistance. The only reason I had gotten a Mercedes Benz was for its safety. Mb site states: "true to their heritage, they're engineered to protect you in ways you might never have imagined. And with the hope that you'll never have to. " how did mb protect me? mb has only engineered the car to rip off customers and not live up to its brand. This is very disappointing.

Electronic Stability Control problem #37

Eis issue/steering wheel lock module. Vehicle was disabled and would not start due to eis/steering wheel lock module complication. Very common in C300 mbz.

Electronic Stability Control problem #38

There has been no repairs for this recall that is a life threatening safety hazard . I have contacted the manufacture and they have stated they do not have the parts to fix this. I have my family that rides in this car everyday. This needs to be fixed or buy back the car from me.

Electronic Stability Control problem #39

I experienced the infamous steering lock problem 5 days ago in my (now former) 2009 mercedes C300. Prior to this problem occurring my car seemed to be working fine. I¿ve always had all of the recommended services performed on time by the dealer. Then last Saturday I was running errands and after my third stop my car wouldn¿t start. I assumed it was the battery (even though it had been replaced less than 2 years ago) and I called mercedes roadside assistance. The roadside technician tested the battery and said it was fine and he immediately suspected it was the steering lock problem. After a bit more testing he confirmed it was and he said the car would need to be towed to the dealer on a flatbed. It was Saturday and the dealer¿s service department was closing but I got there just in time to get a loaner car. Once I got home I started doing internet research on the problem and I found this website. I decided to go back to the dealer on Sunday when the service department was closed and ask if I could trade in the car. I printed out all of the reports on this site and took them with me. The salespeople claimed they had not heard of this problem but they were not interested in learning about it. I waiting until yesterday when I had the repair quote before I traded it in. The cost would have been $1,800 but they said I could use a 15% off service coupon. I also tried to show the reports from this site to the service advisor but he wasn¿t interested in seeing them either. I decided I really needed a car that was still under warranty so I traded it in last night. They subtracted $1,500 off the trade in value for this repair. I tried to get them to document it so I would have some evidence if there is repair refund offered in the future but they were not willing to do so.

Electronic Stability Control problem #40

Stationary while at the rest area during a hot summer day on the side of the highway. The steering column or electronic steering lock (esl) failed and the car would not start. Car won't start and steering won't unlock. . . I stopped and cut the engine of and tried restarting the car it won't do anything. This particular part is faulty on most 2008-2009 mercedes C300. Several hundred thousands are having issues with this particular part and at moments they get it working and at other times not so much. This part needs to be recalled since it is a dealer only replacement part and no one can touch is besides the dealer due to theft and security measures. Mercedes has this particular issue cornered and is not doing anything to work with the customer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #41

Car will not crank nor will it release stering wheel. It states to remove key. Had it towed and dealer reviewed it and it is also the eis. Had to pay to order part and also had to have it towed. Just glad this happened where I work at and not while traveling.

Electronic Stability Control problem #42

Car won't start and steering won't unlock. . . Whenever I stop and cut the engine of and try starting g the car it won't do anything. Then after a good hour it will start. . . Then I drive home and stop it won't start. Everyday twice a day. . . When j go to work or when I come home.

Electronic Stability Control problem #43

Engine ignition switch failure which had me stranded on a busy freeway with my young child. This is a well known issue with Mercedes Benz and was extremely costly.

Electronic Stability Control problem #44

Could not start my car while stationary. Put key in the ignition and got a message on the dash to remove key from ignition. No dash lights came on. There was no clicking or noise. . . It was just dead. The alarm system and headlight and interior lights were all working so it was not the battery. I called roadside and the gave me a jump, but confirmed that my battery was not the problem. My car had to be towed to the dealership on Saturday night after waiting for 5 hours. The dealership did not even conduct the diagnostics on the car until Tuesday afternoon. They determined that the steering lock was defective and needed to be replaced at the cost of $1000. They did not even offer to loan me a car, or ask if I needed transportation. So essentially they left their customer stranded! this is not the service that is expected from mercedes! I have had cars (Acura and BMW) longer than my 2008 C300 with more miles which did not require a replacement of the steering lock. This is a common problem among all mercedes and should be recalled by the manufacturer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #45

Car doesnt want to start , car has 85k on it . Well maintained, battery was 4 months old , eis switch.

Electronic Stability Control problem #46

I went to class on the date of 11/13/2015 and when I came out the vehicle would not start. After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, I was advised it would be $952. 56 for an electrical issue due to no fault of my own and can happen at anytime. So I inquired on how long this would be covered for? I was told its electrical and can happen at anytime, it's like a cellphone or a computer. Yet those have warranties against issues like that whereas something I paid thousands of dollars does not. I have seen many complaints about this online and don't understand why they have not recalled this and continue to rip consumers off. Some even advising this has happen to them on the road which could very well lead to a major accident , it it has not already.

Electronic Stability Control problem #47

On the highway driving 40 mph warning on the display came on stating the" ebr, abs, esp are inoperative" and a warning display stating "power steering malfunction". Power steering was fine, but it was a very nerve wrecking drive. Dealership is stating it is the esp module and pump that needs to be replaced, which can only be done at the dealership.

Electronic Stability Control problem #48

New vehicle purchase 07/11/15, has been in/out mercedes shop since the date of purchase due to electrical problems where car was flooded by rain when purchased due to a plug was not placed in the car by the manufacturer. Requesting a replacement due to electrical problems multiple times with being stranded. Vehicle would die and not crank with having to pull over to the side of the road multiple times due to vehicle malfunctioning. Vehicle was recently towed due to entire system went out and was stranded with vehicle not cranking when parked and died completely. Vehicle electrical system was recently found to be corroded and was changed out multiple times. Vehicle is currently running like a truck since this last repair. This vehicle is a lemon and should be replaced due to the lemon law and the vehicle was flooded by rain due to missing plug from manufacturer day one of purchase. Just received the car back 10/26/16 after two weeks, with the vehicle being in for dying and malfunction due to electrical problems. I'm afraid to drive this vehicle for a distance due to the electrical problems and in fear of being stranded again, with mercedes having no guarantee for my safety. Vehicle VIN# at mercedes shows all the problems with this vehicle being in/out of the shop for electrical problems and malfunction as well as changed out electrical system twice. Vehicle problems started September 2015. This vehicle is considered a lemon and I should be given a replacement due to this vehicle being flooded from the rain and having ongoing electrical problems. This vehicle has hindered me from traveling and has caused me frustration due to all the problems. This vehicle should never be allowed on the road again due to flooding and electrical problems and can cause a death. Mercedes is being negligent, with trying to repair and not salvaging as the lemon law requires.

Electronic Stability Control problem #49

The check engine light comes on dealing with the catalytic converter/fuel system. The sensors are off causing the emission of too much gas. The car runs out of gas fast and does not drive well to get good gas miles per tank. The car's exterior lights also go out fast. This should not happen with a top of the line mercedes car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #50

Monday drove car to work with out any problems. Came out to go home that evening and car would not start. Could turn the ignition completely to the start position but the engine did not turn over. My radio worked, my power seats worked, trunk and doors opened with the key vibe. But nothing happened from the engine. Come to find out the steering wheel locked up for no reason. They had to skate my car in order to get it on the truck truck. This is a defect and I'm a woman and this could have happened at night when driving down the road.

Electronic Stability Control problem #51

A few months back, my wife was stranded in her office parking lot as the car won't start. When she put the key in the ignition it would simply make clicking sounds but will not start. She was able to lock and unlock the car. We called aaa who checked the battery and said it was working fine. The aaa rep said that he had seen this problem quite a few times before in the mb cars and we would have to call mb or they can tow it to the dealership. We then called Mercedes Benz (mb) road side assistance who came and checked the car. The mb rep said that there is an issue with the electronic steering lock and it will need to be replaced. They gave me a quote of around $1500 over phone. Finally I had aaa tow my car to my mechanic and got it repaired for around $800. While researching this problem, I was shocked to see that there were 1000s of threads online where the owners of 2008 and 2009 c class were complaining about the same issue and how each one had to shell out anywhere from $1200 to $1600 at the dealership to get it repaired. I called mb and they admitted that this is a common issue but cannot do anything about it. I was quite appalled at this situation where this being a known issue faced by 1000s of mb customers but mb would not fix it. . Read more...

Electronic Stability Control problem #52

Yesterday my beloved C300 left us stranded at a best buy parking lot late at night. It was really upset when I just get off work, and try to start my car and go home take a rest, but it would not start. I had to leave the car there overnight and was not until next morning that I got it to start. Since then it has been giving us problems so I call the local dealer and they gave me an appointment for next Monday. I have read that this is a very costly and a very well known issue with C300. By this time I am sure mb knows about it, and I did research online seems like that is a common issue and mb should recall for it. Unfortunately, mb don't take care of it, and do not cover it. It is a eis failure issue. . My 2009 C300 has just reached 50,000 klms. We have had it for about 10 months now. . . We are very concerned and disappointed. Electronic Stability Control problem #58

Approximately a year ago my C300 locked up on me would not start. I had it towed to the mercedes dealership and when they check it they stated that eis was out on it. The cost of the repair was over $2000. 00. About two weeks ago, as I started the car in the morning for work I noticed that the start was a little hesitant, so I replaced the battery and things got back to normal. Today leaving for lunch I placed the key in the ignition and turned it to get the "slient click" again. It is doing the same thing it did about a year ago after mercedes "so called fixed the eis". According the mb forums this is an ongoing issue for multiple 2008 C300's. I am getting ready to tow the vehicle back to the dealership but not going to pay for the same issue that they supposedly fixed about a year ago.
