Rear subframe gets rusted and breaks is an issue with most of mercedes C300 to the point the part is back order in USA and germany its a safety issue and there should be a recall for it when I called Mercedes Benz they told me they get at least 3 to 4 calls a day about that issue and people can't find the part it's a comment issue and it sounds be resolved.

My car leaked oil very fast while me & my wife were on a trip and it stopped on the highway and engine was stalling and misfiring due to a manufacture defect that is common with this model so it did put us in a very dangerous & risky situation. Now after I paid $1,740 the dealer is saying that my car needs a new engine due to cracked piston in cylinder 1 that damaged the engine which is a common problem with this model around the 50k miles.

Reported to local dealer and corporate office about the issues with shift module not shifting at random, meaning that the vehicle won't shift from park to drive or reverse, and so forth. The local dealer tried to reprogram the software, but the problem still persists. When plugging in my obd ii & dtc readers, code u0103 appairs which translates to "lost communication with gear shift control module". My concern with this is that I've had this issue while in traffic, which would make my vehicle a hazard. When it comes to the collision prevention system, the system randomly turns on and off, meaning that when it's needed it might turn on, but when it's not needed it randomly turns on. Once again, addressed this with a local dealer and Mercedes Benz corporate with no avail. My concerns here is that the vehicle could prematurely brake causing an accident or not brake at all causing an accident.

My check engine light keeps jumping off and on, went to get diagnosed and the pcv valve came back. I’m not sure why.
The contact owns a 2015 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently fail to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where she was informed that the turbo booster was defective. The contact then took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where the oil circulation and turbo booster were replaced. After the repair, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective clockspring. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
While driving the check engine light came on. The inside of the car started to smell like gas. A diagnostic check was performed at the mercedes dealership and it was determined that there were 2 faults: low boost signal & me control unit this was due to oil leaking from the crankcase vent line through the engine wiring harness and into the me (engine module).

This occurred after an oil change. It is the p052e code crankcase ventilation code.
At approximately 26,500 miles of use, the check engine light came on in my Mercedes Benz C300. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and they informed me that the diagnosis was a crankcase vent valve malfunction. The mb fault code is p52e71. After paying mercedes to fix the issue, I found forums on the internet where many other mb owners reported the same issue at around the same mileage. Being that this seems to be a common malfunction with the C300, I believe that it should be considered as a recall issue. I don't know what could have happened if I didn't service the vehicle, but any engine issue is dangerous while a vehicle is in motion.
My vehicle's positive crankcase ventilation valve needs replacing. After researching this issue for a week im learning that this is a very common issue with my vehicle's make model and year and is likely to occur more than one time in the vehiles lifetime. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center I was made aware of the issue by my vehicle's check engin light.
Pvc pipe to turbo. I am very concerned because this is a reoccurring issue with many owners of C300s. Also, I think it is related to recall number 20v364000 engine and engine cooling: engine: gasoline: turbo/supercharger. The issue was confirmed by a dealer check engine light illuminated.
Cylinder 1 spark plugs is damaged due to piston damage, hole in piston. If extra damage is found on tear down, complete engine replacement. This is direct from the repair facilities reports. While driving my 2018 c-300 there was smoking out of tail pipe, a rough vibration, hard to control the vehicle and it was starting to lose power. Not a good situation, had to pull over and have vehicle towed to the dealership. Worst part is this is a vehicle used to transport my 5 children to and from school and activities. My 16 year old also drives this vehicle, had he been driving this with this happening to him, the outcome could have been catastrophic. Vehicle has been inspected by 2 facilities; first was a certified Mercedes Benz repair facility and the second was the service dept. Of the Mercedes Benz dealership I have serviced at for over 10 years. Mercedes refuses to cover repair costs or even acknowledge the major vehicle malfunction and safety issue this presents. , which is in my view ridiculous as cracked piston is not something that normally happens as the result of normal wear and tear, especially in a 3 year old luxury car. I have read several blogs on this same issue, mercedesworld. Org with over 400k members, reddit. Com, benzworld. Org, metrisforum. Org, and numerous others. Please review these there are numerous people dealing with this and mercedes is refusing to acknowledge. In addition, our Mercedes Benz service rep said these pistons were changed out in the 2019 model and newer due to these issues, he said he continues to see this issue with these models and advised mercedes is well aware.

My car is the 2015 mercedes- benz (mb) c 300 4matic. The check engine light is on and off for some months as initially mb dealer said that it's likely due to gas cap defects so we replaced the gas cap. After that, the engine light is still on and off. Mb dealer now said $1,760 to replace crankcase vent value and $2870. 55 to repair the front differential leaking/reseal. It will cost me a total of $ 4630. 55 +tax to repair. The car has only 70,000 miles and kept good maintenance frequently. Right now my car is not safe to drive it so why this car is broke down so quickly. That is not acceptable to us.
On July 1, my daugther who is driving the car since about 8 months noticed a strange noise coming from the rear of the car. Since I was in europe at that time I could not give her any assistance. On July 16 we both took a drive to rhode island to visit a college. I was the one driving, and I could also hear the noise coming from the rear. On the highway there was a back-up developing and I had to hit the brakes a littler harder. In doing so. The car was very unstable and it look like if the rear was going to overtake the front of the car. I was very scary even for myself who is a long time experience driver. After returning home I took the car to a mechanic and have him look at it. The resulting diagnosis revealed that the subframe was completely rusted out and was about to get disconnected from the under carriage of the car at any moment. The mechanic had a hard time to find a replacement part, and was finally able to locate an oem subframe in California, the only one in the us. The price for the part alone was $1,500. I had no choice other than to have the car repaired at the mechanic since it was at that time undrivable. The total repair was almost $3,200. I took 2 pictures of the replaced subframe (see attached). The car is a 2011 mb C300-4-matic with just 100,800 miles on it. The was purchased used, with about 12,000 miles, in febr. 2012 from Mercedes Benz of westford, MA, which had used the car as a loaner/company car. The car was well maintained, used up until 2020 by my daughter's mother. She then bought herself another, newer C300 (2017 model) and decided to gift her older car to the daughter instead of trading it in. We thought, we knew a lot about the car and considered it a low risk transfer for a new, still learning driver. I will also file a formal complaint with Mercedes Benz if I have figured out the correct contact point. The internet shows, other people have experienced similar situations. And eventually, see also your id-# 10504684 and 11023618.

Transmission shifted into neutral after coming to a stop. Brake was applied. Similar issue to NHTSA campaign 21v033000 for 2019 gla 250.
The car has intermittent starting issues more noticeably during eco start / stop process. When car does an eco stop at red light or stop but it is unable to restart consistently (10-20% fail rate). All dashboard lights come on and car is stalled. Car can roll if on a hill. Car can be restarted by turning car on and off manually. Only error code is p1ce200 but the manufacturer suggested steps do no solve problem. Battery, auxillary battery, starter, voltage dip limiter, battery sensor, starter relay were replaced. Delear unable to find problem and says all software is up to date.
When I'm coming to a stop and the vehicle starts downshifting, the last shift feels like the tranny is going to fall out. Forceful jerk and clunking noise. It's sporadic. One week it's almost every day, one week it seems fine. The dealership said they have heard this a lot and laughed when they told me the manufacturer has told them it's normal. It's definitely not normal.

On February 9th, during my morning commute on the interstate the car lost power to the drivetrain. Message that displays was "collision assist plus inoperative" along with cruise control inoperative. With an amber esp light illuminated, there was no engine light on. When this message appeared the car would no longer accelerate (limp mode). In avoidance to being in a rear end collision I quickly pulled over, turned off the car and turned back on. Inoperative message, limp mode and esp light was cleared. I called dealer to notify. My thought was the battery is a dud (was replaced the day prior), the car needs a software reboot due to the new battery or car was not connected to the "memory saver" correctly. Or the sensors were dirty. So I did the easiest. I washed the car. This problem continued to happen 5-6 times more over the next few days stalling on the freeway at 65-75 mph. Extremely dangerous & life threatening. No engine problems apparent. Seems to be radar or software. This is extremely dangerous while on the highway, I found many other with this same issue on NHTSA. I attached a picture of car showing message with no power. My seatbelt was off as I was on side of road trying to get to gas station. This issue is cleared by turning car on / off. Then it happens again hours or a day later, loss of power at highway speeds. Coast over.
When the car is in the a feature, where it turns on and off when not in motion, it gets stuck in that mode as if a magnet is holding it in that position. It will not move, it stalls. I turn it off and turn it back on and sometimes it still will not move, sometimes, it will not turn back on. This has happened on several different occasions. Once, I pulled to the side of my mailbox to pick up mail, and another occasion I pulled into my garage, and it stopped, and would not turn on. This is very dangerous, I would hate to be in traffic, railway crossing, ir stop sign and this occurred. Peoples lives have been lost due to this issue. One lady was hit by a train when this same situation occurred and lost her life. I am very concerned for my safety and of my grandkids whom I transport in this car. It also seems that something is wrong with the gears. Sometimes, I put it in reverse and it sits there. I put it in drive and it will not move. I feel very unsafe in this vehicle. Please help.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled at start-up and while driving at various speeds. The battery failure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic nor a dealer to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The 7 speed transmission shifts very hard from 1 gear to 2 gear to 3 gear. From 3 gear all the way to 7 gear is very smooth. Also the same way around when you downshift from 3 gear to 2 gear to 1 gear. The slowing down is very harsh and it looks like the transmission doesn't understand that the car is going to a full stop. All the power and speed cut down a few seconds before full stop. I have personally tried to do the reset with key and pedal trick but it only works for a day or two and goes right back to the rough shifting.
When idling at the light. The car would shut itself off. All the warning lights will come on. I then have to restart the car with the push start to reset it. Then it'll work fine. I have been to mercedes dealership in new rochelle for four times about this issue. They changed the battery the first time. Two days later the situation occurred again. Then the second and third time they gave me back the car and said they didn't see anything wrong because no codes popped up. Both times I took the car back and the situation occurred again. This problem has occurred over 30 times since over 29,000 miles. The dealership is trying to figure out the issue and right now I am in a loaner vehicle on the fourth time that I have given my car in for service because of this situation. The incident is dangerous in that one time I was in an intersection and it shut off on me. Cars going the opposite way almost hit me because of my reaction time to put the car on start and then restart the car. This can be potentially dangerous for possible accidents. In addition, I have looked online and similar problems have occurred with older models and other models.
On 7/30/18 I was stranded in the middle of the street after the coolant malfunction light came on. The car began overheating, and there was no ac. I waited for roadside assistance more than 3 hours. I was informed of the incorrect positioning of the alternator from manufacturing, which resulted in multiple lights on cluster. They found the engine belt fell off & replaced the v-belt. They performed li13. 22-p-060187, and released stress of alternator and corrected torque. They also worked on a campaign/recall (#2018070005) I had not been informed of. On 3/15/19 during the scheduled 20k service, they tested battery test code with cabin filters wipers and brake fluid service and performed a vehicle inspection. On 3/19/19, 4 days after the scheduled 20k service, I was stranded in the middle of us1 during rush hour traffic on my way to work. The coolant light came again. Thankfully, I safely avoided an accident after the car turned off in the middle of the street. The report showed a weak crank & battery message on the cluster display. They tested the battery and found code hr250bt-dad4lfb stating, replace battery. They removed a0019820208 date 45/16 and installed a0019829108 date 03/18. The drive belt had come off the drive system & found li13. 22-p-060187, which stated they needed to perform an alignment procedure of the alternator and installed a new belt for the 2nd time. The belt actually caused damage to the tensioning device, which resulted in them replacing the tensioner, and performing the instruction for li. They test drove the car & said it was fixed. On 4/4/19, just 3 days after picking up my car, it turned off on my again in the middle of us1. The battery light came on and a message popped up stating that the system would shut down in 3 minutes. I was lucky enough to avoid an accident on a congested road.
The contact owns a 2012 Mercedes Benz C300. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started and the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred periodically. The vehicle was taking to an independent mechanic where the failure could not be determined. Mercedes-benz of alexandria (200 s pickett st, alexandria, va 22304 (703) 341-2100) and mercedes-benz of annapolis (324 6th st, annapolis, MD 21403 (888) 261-7620) were contacted and informed the contact to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000.

I wasn't driving down the highway at 60 mph and the car went into neutral by itself and stayed there in the middle of the road. The car wouldn't move at all and had to pull over to the hard shoulder and restart the engine. This happened to me 4 times in total. I scanned it and they said it's the speed sensor inside the conductor plate which entirely needs to be replaced and reprogrammed by mercedes. This is a safety issue because a car going into neutral in the middle of the highway is dangerous to other drivers which can cause an accident that can take your life. Many other cars with the 722. 6g transmission has it and mercedes knows about it. By the way, the vehicle wasn't in motion while all these incidents occurred.

Dont know which category it falls. I bought this car in August 2015. In one week it would not start even. Towed to dealership and they said, the grounding screw was loose. I am so surprised that a car comes out from factory with a loose grounding issue. In the last 2 weeks, the car just stalled at the signal. All lights came up. I had the eco start/stop mode on. This happened 3 times and finally I shut the eco start/stop mode down. It is so dangerous that in heavy traffic, when people are ready to drive on change of signal, the car wont move, people are honking and frustrated and I am too. Looked online and so many people are complaining the same. The whole of dashboard lights up like when a car stalls. This is very dangerous. Anybody waiting behind you can take the pedal from the brake and smash into you. Similarly, for last 2 months, I have noticed that there is a jumping nature when you take leg of the brake at the signal. That scares me as well. From the feel of it, I feel this is primarily a software issue where the computer thinks it is in some mode when it is not or something and shuts everything down as a precautionary measure or something.
No no fix.
My car has two recalls for the airbags which means my car can not be traded in because it's not resaleable. These recalls are not minority's and we risk serious injury or possible death because mercedes can fix the problem. Reassuraning knowing if you're ever in an accident your airbags may distinction during impact or be the reason you die. I'm stuck with this car until the remedies are available, but I'm also stuck with risking my life. I started having transmission problems with hesitating to speed up from a stop or slower speed. The dealership said it was my intake manifold flap that needed to be replaced. Of course that wasn't the problem and it's getting worse. I had it looked at again to be told nothing was wrong and no codes were displayed during the diagnostic check. Meanwhile my car gets worse by the week and my transmission feels like something is clearly wrong. For the third time I had it checked and this time had a technician ride with me. He noted the hesitating feeling while driving and validated my concerns. He said he personally believes my transmission is malfunctioning but mercedes is covering their tails. He suggested I take it to a private mechanic who specializes in mercedes unless I want to pay $9,000 to mercedes to be told a range of things need to be fixed and the problem never be solved. Absolute rip off and I'll never buy mercedes again.
I got Mercedes Benz C300 2010 in less than 6 months, the vehicle developed power steering lock issue; the vehicle will not start and got me stranded in a parking lot of a grocery store. I researched the problem online and realized several individuals have had similar issue. I brought the issue to mbusa, they did not deny its a common issue but said based on the history of the vehicle I am not eligible for any relieve on the cost of repair. I feel it is unfair that I will have to pay for something I believe its a manufacturer default. Now I am compelled to pay $1,700 for the repairs.
When at a red light and the car is idling, all of a sudden the car jerks forward. If the brake is not engaged hard, I have experienced the car feeling like it will lunge forward. This occurs each and every time I am idling at a red light.
Issue with cam gears. Mercedes has know about this issue for many many years. There should be a recall on this issue. Car is unsafe with this problem and costs about $8000 to fix. From the online class action lawsuit from 2013 "the engines are equipped with defective gears in their balance shafts or with defective idle gears. These defective gears wear out prematurely, excessively, and without warning, causing the vehicle to malfunction, the ¿check engine light¿ to remain illuminated, and the vehicle to misfire and/or stop driving. ".
C300 anti collision sensor malfunction light displayed and loss engine power for several seconds. The car was traveling aprox 20 mph at the time on city street. Then power resumed, the warning light went out. Mercedes-benz of temecula, CA could not find a problem. Workorder 229423, 9/13/16.
Parked vechile to make a quick stop when I returned vechile will not start. Got a jump and it was confirmed it was not the battery car was only at 75000 miles.
Was driving on city street, and the collision prevention assist disabled warning sign came on and I lost power to the car. I'm told this is called "limp mode. " I tried to pick up speed by pressing throttle to the floor, but got no reaction at all. Then some power came back, but not much. Each time I braked to stop for light or turn this would happen. After I got home I restarted the engine and it seemed normal again. However I was afraid to drive it, especially since in the last six months my power steering also failed, and had it towed to dealer. They ran tests and no code for failure was found. They said they found some software updates which they did. Unfortunately, after I picked up the car from service I saw that my main complaint wasn't even mentioned. Only that I sometimes had problem with collision control warning going off for no apparent reason.
The contact owns a 2008 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that the remote key failed to start the vehicle. The brake pedal locked up, the steering wheel seized, and the gear shifter failed to come out of park. The instrument panel indicated to remove the key from the ignition switch. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
