April Nov 2004, I purchased a 2001 c240 mercedes from princeton mercedes in new jersey. One month after driving the car slowed down as if it would not accelerated. I had to take it back in for repair. They told they could not find a problem. However 4/19/08 I experienced the same problem of deceleration while driving I was told this time that it was transmission control unit. I have been researching and I believed that this was the problem 4 years ago; however they did not was to correct the problem. I want to know was there a recall for this specific transmission control unit on these types of cars. I have been in several chat rooms and there are various complaints regarding this type of problem. The car will stop in traffic or on the freeway without notice. At the time of the incident I was able to pull over to a gas station: however what would happen if there was major traffic bumper to bumper. I want this problem researched. I believed that mercedes knew about a flaw with this transmission control unit.

The contact owns a 2009 Mercedes Benz c300. Whenever the contact placed the vehicle into reverse or drive I would violently switch into gear causing the vehicle to slightly surge forward. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership on thirteen different occasions where several different parts have been serviced on the transmission;however the contact is still experiencing the failure. The contact has noticed the failure since the vehicle was purchased. The current and failure mileages were 14000.
The contact owns a 2009 Mercedes Benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing several computer defects. While parked on a hill and attempting to place the gear shifter into reverse, the vehicle would roll forward instead of backwards. The vehicle would roll forward approximately one foot as if it were in neutral. During this time, the steering would lock and the brakes would lose power. It would take tremendous force to depress the brake pedal and stop the vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer could not assist with the repairs. There were no recalls available. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. No repairs have been performed. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were less than 7,000.
The transmission of my new car, 2006 mbz c280, has failed three times. The car goes into a false neutral while driving and then eventually falls into gear. After this episode, the car continues to drive in a low gear. The dealership has tried:
1. Replacing the valve body on the car's transmission and uploading the new software
2. Replacing the transmission with a completely new transmission from the dealership
3. Replacing the valve body of the new transmission.

3/03 within 3 months of purchasing my 2002 c-240, the air conditioning stopped working, fuel gauge failed, headlight washer broke, and one of the vents on the dash fell apart. Took in for service and was given another 2002 c-240, and while driving the loaner car in the mountains, it began down shifting itself and there was no power. Car would come to complete stop and then would start moving again. Happened 6 times. Mercedes dealer thought was isolated incident. I felt it was very serious as I was on interstate when it would suddenly stop in traffic. Could have caused a very serious accident. 4/03 air conditioning not working again.
