Started to get the message to check my rear, right turninf signa, fog lamps, brake lights. Checked all the bulbs and they are fine. Put the harness back and realized it was a little hot and when I looked the wire to the far right I think is expose and on the other side it is burnt through the plastic. Message comes off and on during driving.

Rear lighting failure (taillight). Failure causing my vehicle lights to very dim and some bulbs are not illuminate at all. Occurs with left taillight (brake light). I see some burning on plastic panel that bulbs goes in.
I have received multiple warning signals indicating that my tail lights and turning lights have failed. I initially thought my bulbs were blown but I thought it was strange that all of them would blow at one time. Upon checking the panel in the trunk I noticed that the wires looked like they were burning. I brought it into the dealer and the said they have noticed the issue but do not know the cause. I asked if this was recalled and they stated no, and that I would be responsible for the repairs. After doing further research I noticed others have had similar issues. I do not think that it is fair that the consumer should have to incur the cost associated with subpar manufacturing. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Right rear tail lamp assembly. Lights appeared dim for a couple months and figured lights were about it go out. Went to buy new light bulbs to replace the dimming bulbs and when I opened the right side to install the light I noticed the electrical cord attached to the assembly had melted. Lights were still dim and checked to see what it sounded like when I turned the lights on and it makes a crackling electrical sound. I assume that's why it smelt like something was burning and why the 8 prong piece melted. 1-6 on the electrical piece look good. 7 is damaged due to number 8 completely melting off.
I have black mercedes c230 kompressor sports sedan 2004 model. Car was purchased brand new at mercedes authorized dealer. There is no modification made to this car and all the servicing done at mercedes authorized dealer since I bought this car. It had only 58000 miles. Last b servicing which checked any safety related issues and includes regular maintenance, was done at authorized dealer on 02/18/2012. No issue was informed on 02/18/2012 to us by mercedes authorized dealer servicing department. On 06/21/2012, when I was driving this car from work to home, I turned on a/c, a/c shutdown and I started smelling smoke. On left side of my car there is a/c vent and I saw fire inside the hood through that vent. I pulled over car right away and electricity went out with in 1 min of my pulling over and within 4 min, whole car was burning. My car is now totaled. This poses following security concerns:
1. Mercedes c230 2004 is made of highly inflammable material and driver and users of car has very less chance to survive if there is fire. 2. Mercedes c230 2004 model a/c unit is not of highest quality and electrical system is faulty. Both of above issues poses very serious security risks to public and it needs through investigation. I contacted mercedes head quarter for investigation and mercedes declined to investigate. Geico stated in report that hood is stuck and cause of fire is unknown. Geico insurance company authorized mercedes engineers to investigate further upon my request and mercedes USA does not want to investigate further. I have pictures of burnt car and can share if it helps in investigation to rule out above 2 concerns. We do not want others to go through same ordeal as we went through.

The rear tail lights on my mb c350 shows signs of a burning/melting on the connector. I initially received a notice on my dash that the right rear bulb was bad and not working. I checked the connectors and it showed signs of melting/burning. After adjusting the wires, the lights would work until the car would hit a bump and I would have to again reset the wires.

The contact owns a 2009 Mercedes Benz c300. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing several computer defects. While parked on a hill and attempting to place the gear shifter into reverse, the vehicle would roll forward instead of backwards. The vehicle would roll forward approximately one foot as if it were in neutral. During this time, the steering would lock and the brakes would lose power. It would take tremendous force to depress the brake pedal and stop the vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer could not assist with the repairs. There were no recalls available. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. No repairs have been performed. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were less than 7,000.
My wife drove the car in the morning, no problem. Early afternoon, she left to pick up our child, while leaving the neighborhood. The vehicle starting sending warning signs came on the dash that had never been seen before. Then thick smoke came out from under the steering wheel. My wife had to open her window. She then turned around to go back home prior to leaving the community. On the way back the car slammed on brakes by itself and cut itself off and said the vehicle had 7 faults. Ran up to a neighbors home, upon returning the vehicle was engulfed in flames and became a total loss. Police and fire marshal came to inspect the vehicle. Since then, we have had to track down merecedes benz and basically have had no customer support whatsoever. We located the vehicle for mercedes as they took their sweet time. They did get an inspector there to view the vehicle but have yet to hear anything from them regarding this matter. We have contacted an attorney to protect us and want mercedes to be held liable for this incident. Something was very wrong and we are grateful that no one was hurt.

My mercedes-benz c-240 (2003 model), having less than 18500 miles, suddenly lost power after some 2-hour worth of free-way driving. Around noon on Friday, 8/26/05, I was driving south -bound on I-15 past victorville (CA), about 9 miles past the exit for route 18, when my c-240 suddenly lost power. As I depressed the accelerator, I felt no power and the rpm was decreasing. It felt like the entire engine-transmission system was shutting down. There was no prior warning. I made right turn signal letting other vehicles know I was coming off the free-way. I managed to pull off to the right shoulder safely and came to full stop on the gravel. At that time, my digital odometer read "1 malfunction". Using my cell phone, I immediately called the mercedes hotline. The roadside assistance representative, kristin, advised me not to drive the vehicle, even after the "1 malfunction" sign became "no malfunction" a little later. My vehicle was towed to a mercedes-benz dealer in riverside, some 50 miles away. At the dealers service dept, after a basic check involving computer and electronics, some faulty identifications were made, but it was determined to be safe and drivable. I drove my vehicle home, planning to have a major check up later.
Vehicle breakdowns.
Esp & bas warning messages appeared on the message screen twice, once on 1-20-03 & again on 1-27-03, the first time dealer said it can happen if you didn't tighten the gas cap. On both occasions, the messages were gone the next day. On 1-27-03 I called rallye motors to tell them & I have an appt for March 10, 2003.
Consumer states there are problems concering the esp and bas systems warning messages that are appearing on the monitor, when traveling at a moderate rate of speed in a straight line, the vehicle loses all power along with braking sensation. (Mercedes Benz c-240).
