The contact owns a 2001 Mercedes Benz Cl-600. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 mph the abc light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised him the hydraulic line fractured and needed to be replaced. Approximately two days later with the vehicle in idle mode, he heard a loud burst. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who stated another hydraulic line fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Abc hose leaked hydraulic fluid in huge puddle as the vehicle was being backed out of the driveway. Not long after the wheels were sitting on top of the wheel well. Mercedes service diagnosed as hose that requires transmission to be removed to fix. Was told recall work was done in 2004 so I had to pay full repair price ($4,700).

5 Suspension problem of the 2002 Mercedes Benz CL-600

I was driving down the road, then the cars suspension started acting iractic, I could not maintain contol of the vehicle till a short time later. My cars suspension raised and lowed in a violent way. My head was thrown forward into the steering wheel, and back in the head rest. I was wearing my seatbelt. I contacted mercedes, and they told me in so many words, too bad for me.

On may 6, 2009 my mercedez cl600 active body control failed and caused the car to drop so low that the body touched the tires and causing dangerous driving conditions. The mercedes dealership repair facility of chicago informed me that it was caused by an oil leak in the active body control high pressure line. Since the repair on June 1, 2009, for which a recall was never mentioned, the active body control system caused the body to touch the tires again on June 20, 2009 and I towed the car back to the dealership where no work was done and no recall information was disclosed. The body of he car raised temporarily enough to drive but continues to lower spontaneously.

This may result in abc hydraulic fluid leakage near the catalytic converter. Leaking fluid may come in contact with hot engine components and lead to a possible fire.

The entire front end of the vehicle collapsed and the abc pressure control valve leaked and failed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced the hydraulics, seal rings, and valves. The vehicle experienced the same failure multiple times and was taken back to the dealer on three different occasions. The repair costs totalled approximately $10,000. He had not noticed any failures since retrieving the vehicle two weeks prior to the complaint. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 04v228000 (suspension). The current mileage was approximately 98,000 and failure mileage was approximately 85,000. : the contact stated after hitting a bump at 50 mph, the suspension dropped down 5 inches and a warning light illuminated. The vehicle then operated roughly and was driven to a residence. The contact inspected under the hood and found fluid on the engine. The vehicle was driven to the dealership where, the hydraulic hose and active body control pump were replaced. A NHTSA recall, #04v228000 was performed on the vehicle concerning, the suspension however, the recall did not remedy the problem. The dealership would not offer a second repair under the recall.
