The main information center they notifies you of 99% of what is going on with the car stopped working completely. Can’t tell how fast the car is moving or the rpm this also included the entire instrument cluster, in addition to that the battery and electric system just quits even though the connections are tight. The battery also drains quickly as a result even though the alternator works and the battery is new. I had the entire car shut off for no obvious cause. While I was driving. But because the entire dash is dead I can’t see if there is something else happening. Looked at fuses and they all ring okay with a meter. I have read about recalls from mercedes for this seemingly exact cause for other year mercedes but nothing about my car based off the VIN # and year specifically. Recently I also had the sun roof glass shatter from heat. That now needs to be replaced. Nothing touched the glass it just popped one day when it was hot in CA, don’t know of the cold air from the ac caused it to do that. My car has low miles. The car does run and it drives good when it does run except for the issues mentioned thank you rusty a.

The instrument cluster caught on fire and almost choked me and my cousin to death smh. It says there was a recall for this but I guess my car is to old. It only has a 130,000 miles on it this shouldnt have been an issue.

Driving at highway speed, the instrument panel went black and has not come back on. This includes the speedometer, the fuel gauge and all the other engine gauges. The cruise control does not work. Searching online, this appears to be a prevalent problem and that was confirmed by my mechanic. I don't understand why this is not a safety recall for this vehicle and the many others affected. The vehicle has about 100,000 miles on it (I can't see exactly how may with the dash black).
Takata recall I bought my 04 Cl500 benz in April of 2015, after a few month I noticed the cluster flickering then soon after the back light went out but gages still working then today while driving in the city a poof of smoke hit me in the face I figured something was on fire so I pulled over opened all my doors and hood but no flames just smoke when smoke stopped I looked toward where the smoke was coming from witch was the cluster now im stuck with a horrble smell and no gages.

I was driving to the store going about 45mph and all the sudden my instrument cluster completely went out and this is my daily driver so now im driving with no fuel level speed or how hot my engine is getting I called mercedes and they said my VIN was not in the recall but it should not matter!! it has the same problem as the other ones. But they refuse to fix a safe maulfunction.
I was driving down the highway at night and it was raining had the wipers and the high beams on. Then all of sudden the high beans went out and the dash went black black causing limited visibility. This is the reason I'm filing a complaint because it almost caused a accident with the light dimming and the cluster going blank.
I have a mercedes Cl500 while driving the car the lights in the speedometer everything went out I had to check it when I got home I was able to get speedometer working again gas gauge by replacing fuse the lights in the background are still not working also I have an issue with the vehicle active body control I have a leak suspension goes all the way down I would like to know if there is a recall to get this fixed and how I go about this.
