Whoever the imbecile is at mb engineering who incorporated this limp mode feature should be fired!!! to make matters worse, this cheaply built tps, which is the cause of the problem in my vehicle specifically, was only warrantied twice by the dealer and now they will not replace it under warranty which is a two-year period. I've only had the part 5 months before it failed again due to poor manufacturing and I had to pay all over again for a new one despite my warranty validity. There have been many other mb owners who have the same complaint for limp mode, which tells me that it's definitely not me, but rather the poorly built or engineered vehicle, as a matter of fact. Mb has denied having these complaints to me, which of course, is a lie. That's misleading and deceptive business practices in my state and mb needs to live up to its warranty provisions and respect its customers.

I was extremely stressed receiving this notification as I recently purchased this vehicle, and I am being told by the state of ri my car is unsafe to drive and my transportation for work is being removed. I had to contact the state of ri and advised that no one will fix the safety check engine light problem and I need a time extension to contact the mercedes dealer. I then scheduled an appointment with mercedes, warwick ri and was told that the part for this repair was back ordered and that there is an extended warranty on this repair. (exhibit a). This immediately put my mind at ease, and I could see a solution to this two-month long problem. Then I was informed that the extended warranty is only for 14 models all within the same year as my vehicle. The dealership also advised that mercedes may add the recall for the cla 250 in the future and I would be reimbursed for the repair. I then contacted mercedes of USA by letter requesting that my vehicle experiencing the same design errors on the crankcase ventilation system be included in their extended warranty. I noticed for the last several weeks my car sometimes hesitates when I start the engine. I hadn't looked into it and wasn't sure what it could be because I changed my battery less than 2 years ago. I hoped it was a fluke or do to the increasing cold weather. Also the car occasionally shudders and hesitates when I increase and decrease speed and one or two the radio shut off on it's own. This morning, the automatic windshield wipers came on even though it was not raining and my windshield was not wet. This lasted for a few minutes before it stopped on it own. Then I drove about a mile and was at a stop light. When I eventually tried to accelerate, I wasn't able to and it was then that I noticed my car had slipped to neutral on it's own. I was on a busy road when this happened. The car also restarted on its own and I was able to shift to drive and continue driving. Thinking this was a fluke or perhaps a battery issue, I continued to drive for a few more minutes and again I found myself at a stop light and again, the car slipped into neutral. I quickly put my emergency lights on and restarted the car. The radio came but on, but I noticed the a/c did not come back on. I didn't bother turning it back on. I was able to drive 23 miles to my destination with no other incident. The majority of the 23 mile drive, after the car had stopped 2 times, was highway driving, so I did not need to stop much.

Catalytic converter got clogged up and car would loose power and not get enough air into engine and catalytic converter right next to the turbo under the heat shield would turn glowing red causing turbo to leak it’s fluids.

My 2016 mercedes-benz c300 after undergoing the recommended maintenance via the mercedes-benz dealer, while driving down the public road lost power, the lost of power with no warning to me or any other drivers around me, the vehicle went from 45 mph to 10 mph this was due to a decentigrating piston, the vehicle manufacture advertised that the vehicle would cut power to protect the engine from causing it self further damage, this seemed like a great safety feature until it just happen, I had no control over the vehicle, it just seemed to take on a life of its own, the vehicles behind or adjacent to me had no warning that the vehicle would decrease the speed, so I had to muscle the care out of the swirling traffic, I was devistated that my car caused me such fear and dealing with the fact that the car could have killed me or some one else near me, I had the vehicle towed to the local dealer who had serviced the vehicle since it was new and the dealer explained that the piston in the internal combustion engine had decentagrated thus causing metal shavings to be distributed throughout the rest of the engine, and I would be charged for the total cost of the repair of the engine. It appeared that this should have been disclosed to the owner of the vehicle or placed in the owners manual, but the only response from mercedes was we change out these engines all the time they always blow engines, you can call mercedes-benz advocacy to discus the warranty from which I never receive a response. If the manufacture places know bad parts in to a vehicle and sales it to the public, then that manufacture should have to pay for the repairs of the customers vehicles either individually or thru a recall process.

They won't cover it under warranty since I gave them all my maintence receipts from pep boys . This was a demo car I originally leased and had it for 2 years with 9 months left on the car. The recalls on the VIN were not fixed and mercedes is trying to send me away with a unfixed car. Please help.

I was driving my car when all of a sudden the car slowed down and the steering became stiff. The pre safe light came on the screen along with "parking brake" "traction control" although the parking brake was not applied. I had to have my car towed home because it was unsafe to drive.

I've read several posts where this happened while driving at high speeds! this is a very dangerous occupancy. . . A critical failure! anyway, the error message came on when I started the car and the car immediately shut down. It had to be towed on a flatbed as there was no way to even start the car and is at the shop now. My car has less than 42k miles. This really is unacceptable and I am scared to drive the car now after reading it happens while driving too! I haven't read anywhere what the actual issue is, only that after sone people get it back after a software update it happens again. Mb really needs to find out what is causing this critical error and fix it since it is so dangerous!.
