Approximately 6 months I noticed my vehicle began to emit an odor and is not responsive immediately when I press on the gas. During this time period a yellow check engine light appeared on my dashboard. My local mechanic recommended christopher motors in warwick rhode island and german motors in providence, rhode island, who specializes in mercedes. I scheduled an appointment and took the vehicle to christophers motors to get a diagnostics check for $130. Christopher motors did a diagnostic check and revealed that the car needs a crank shift ventilator that will cost approximately $1500-$1800 and could not guarantee if the service engine light would be removed. During this time I received a vehicle registration suspension notification for the state of ri for a failed safety inspection. I was extremely stressed receiving this notification as I recently purchased this vehicle, and I am being told by the state of ri my car is unsafe to drive and my transportation for work is being removed. I had to contact the state of ri and advised that no one will fix the safety check engine light problem and I need a time extension to contact the mercedes dealer. I then scheduled an appointment with mercedes, warwick ri and was told that the part for this repair was back ordered and that there is an extended warranty on this repair. (exhibit a). This immediately put my mind at ease, and I could see a solution to this two-month long problem. Then I was informed that the extended warranty is only for 14 models all within the same year as my vehicle. The dealership also advised that mercedes may add the recall for the cla 250 in the future and I would be reimbursed for the repair. I then contacted mercedes of USA by letter requesting that my vehicle experiencing the same design errors on the crankcase ventilation system be included in their extended warranty. Unfortunately they would not add my vehicle to the extended warranty and did not provide a detailed explanation.

Date of occurrence: 03/05/2024 subject: formal claim regarding traffic safety issue with 2021 Mercedes Benz cla 250 I am writing to formally submit a claim regarding a recent traffic safety incident involving my 2021 Mercedes Benz cla 250. While driving to my destination, I encountered a sudden loss of power and inability to accelerate. To ensure the safety of myself and other drivers, I activated my emergency lights and cautiously proceeded at a limited speed of approximately 30 mph, accompanied by a strained engine sound. Understanding the potential risks associated with this issue, I immediately pulled over in a safe location and had to drive the vehicle with caution to my home where I then arranged for my vehicle to be towed to the service department. Upon inspection, the service department informed me that the problem stemmed from a software malfunction, for which mercedes has not yet released an updated version. Given the nature of this incident and the potential safety hazards it poses, I am deeply concerned about the safety of driving my vehicle on the freeway or to any destination. I kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter promptly and ensuring the necessary steps are taken to rectify the software malfunction. Please let me know the next steps in the claims process, any additional documentation or information required, and the estimated timeline for resolution. During the manufacturing process, particles was trapped between the fuel and rail injectors, which is causing a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, increase the risk of a fire.

I have 2 mecedes with the same issue per Mercedes Benz of USA inspection causing engine light to be triggered per diagnosis testing ran on both cars. 2015 VIN #wdctg4gb0fj172856 gla 250 4 matic-p052e71 2016 VIN #wddsj4gb4gn372013 cla 250 matic -p052e71 I was told by a mercedes services advisior that both cars have the same engine for a 2015gla and a 2016 cla - both due to both cars stalling in traffic on multiple time when driving I took both to the shop to run further testing to discover both had the same engine light trigger which is the crankshaft (aka) oil seperator (aka)intake tube due to this both cars have suffered an issue when taking emmission test - mercedes dignosis testing codes -p052e71 - crankshaft venilation malfunction - car will not pass emmission test and this part defects also causes car to stall that can possible cause accident this part complete repair could cost up to $2500-$3000 for parts and labor part number -270-090-07-00 (crankshaft) the engine light issue triggered by crankshaft and will not pass emmission testing due to this description of this part below: crankcase ventilation is the process of venting or removing blow-by from an engine's crankcase to prevent excessive pressure build-up within the engine. Blow-by gases are mixed with oil mist and other contaminants that can harm an engine's internal components and contaminate the environment. How does the crankshaft ventilation work- when the vehicle is moving, airflow across the open end of the tube creates suction (a "draught" or draft) that pulls gases out of the crankcase. To prevent too much vacuum being created, the blow-by gases are replaced by fresh air using a device called a breather. The breather is often located in the oil cap the engine misfires, you may have trouble getting your vehicle up to speed. Misfires often happen when your vehicle is under load while accelerating. This can result in slow or sluggish acceleration or a jerking motion while pressing down on acc.

Subject: urgent safety concern regarding recall campaign #2022030003 for 2016 Cla250 VIN# xxx date: August 16, 2023 to whom it may concern, I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding a recent incident involving my 2016 Cla250, VIN# xxx, which has raised serious safety issues for both myself and my passengers. Between July 15, 2023, and August 14, 2023, I experienced a distressing loss of power while commuting to work. The incident occurred while I was traveling in the high-speed lane on the highway, almost resulting in a major accident that could have led to severe injuries or even loss of life. During this period, the check engine light on my vehicle illuminated and subsequently turned off. Fearing for our safety, I promptly sought a vehicle diagnostic assessment at the firestone service center on August 15, 2023. The diagnostic codes returned indicated a "fuel/rail low power" issue. To my dismay, I learned that a recall (campaign #2022030003) had been issued by the manufacturer for the exact problem I encountered. With this information in hand, I diligently contacted the local mercedes dealership to address the recall. However, I was informed that my vehicle's VIN# was not included in the recall list. This contradicts the diagnostic assessment carried out by firestone, which clearly indicated the need for intervention due to the "fuel/rail low power" issue. Given the alarming circumstances and the potential risks associated with this safety concern, I implore you to investigate and rectify this situation promptly. It is evident from the diagnostic results obtained from firestone that my 2016 cla VIN# xxx should be included in the recall list to ensure the safety of all occupants. I trust that the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of motorists and passengers across the nation. I kindly request your urgent attention to this matter to prevent any further incide.
My vehicle's cylinder head needs to be replaced due to a leak in the valve seat. It is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were at risk because the engine of the vehicle could of failed at anytime while the vehicle was in use. This could have lead to an accident. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and the dealer is recommending I replace the cylinder head. The dealer's service center had a certified technician perform a diagnostic test on my vehicle. There were no warnings, messages, or symptoms prior to the check engine light coming on. I brought my vehicle in to the dealership for a diagnosis of the check engine light as soon as the check engine light appeared. That is when I was informed that I needed to replace my cylinder head.
Approximately several weeks ago, the check engine light illuminated in my vehicle. No issues were present at that time. Shortly after, approximately a week later, the vehicle began to stutter when reversing or driving on surface streets after being on the highway. The vehicle also would stall after the check engine light flashed several times. The vehicle would need to be turned off and turned back on to accelerate correctly and not stall. This has not been inspected by the dealer yet, a service appointment has been made. Mercedes recently recalled other models due to a water intrusion issue, but this model was not included, however it is exhibiting nearly the exact same symptoms.
Inyector down after fueling gas.
On this day, I was nearly killed in my 2014 mercedes Cla250 4matic that stalled on a highway in new york city. The car has roughly 40,300 miles on the odometer. I was driving on the brooklyn queens expressway at 4:00am. The car's motor stalled and the car came to a stop in the left lane. There were no shoulders. I attempted to get the car restarted but all I got were flashing dashboard lights. I attempted to put up a warning triangle to the rear of the car, but the traffic was moving too quickly for me to safely do that. I sat in my car and buckled my seat belt. I called 911 to announce my emergency and I contacted my car's insurer for a tow truck (they provide such a service). Within moments, a Toyota with tlc plates smashed into my car sending me into the barrier. The rear of the car was broken and deformed. The front of the car is okay, but the appearance of the rear is such that I believe I lost my car. I read online that this model has a stalling problem and that others have gone through this. I was one of the unlucky owners and I will be suing. This car's airbags did not deploy and I am injured and being treated in a hospital.
When attempting to pass or pulling out onto road way the car will suddenly lose power, check engine light comes on. This leaves the drivers in a very dangerous situation with on-coming traffic.

While driving at normal street speed "collision prevention assist inoperative" displayed and car would not accelerate. I was in traffic, but was able to exit and pull over and park, turned car off, & back on. Display reset and car normal. Took to dealership immediately-repair was "non connecting pins". Too early to tell if this solves. Upon investigation, this is a common issue with 2014 mb and I want to document this extremely dangerous performance.
The car showed "pre-safe unavailable" and showed that the stability control off light on the dash. It went into "limp" mode just before a dangerous y shaped intersection where I was turning to the left leg of the y and the oncoming traffic was from the right side of the y. The car was almost totally unresponsive to throttle inputs, and as I had to slow down to see down the hill to the right side of the y, acceleration across the intersection was less than normal walking speed. Luckily, there was no traffic coming to the right or behind me. Dealer was unable to find the cause. I traded the car in for the next year model due to feeling unsafe driving it.
Car completely shutoff tonight on the highway and luckily I was able to get pulled over without incident. I had numerous messages on the display, including "service required, do not shift gears, visit dealer" and "esp inoperable, see operator's manual". The car would not do anything once I pulled over, nothing happened when I turned the key, no noises, nothing. Mb roadside assistance came and tried to jump start and disconnect the battery to no avail. So, off on the tow truck it went.
While driving the vehicle suddenly the accelerator started to have a delayed response. Pressing the accelerator would not do anything for between 3 to 5 second after the car was stopped. After the delay, the car would respond and was drivable, but after every subsequent stop, the 3 to 5 second delay would return. This continued for the 20 miles that I drove to the dealership to have them look at the car and repair it. I believe this unresponsiveness of the accelerator to be a dangerous condition as it prevented me from being able to driving normally and could have prevented me from moving my vehicle if it was stopped and a situation required it to be moved quickly. At this time this occurred the following warning lights appeared on the dash. The check engine light came on. The esp warning light came on, the esp system "off" light came on, and a message stating that "presafe functions were unavailable" appeared on the dash board computer screen. This was the second time this happened to me. The first time was at the beginning of April. I pulled the car over. Restarted the car and the condition fixed itself. This time, restarting the car did not clear the condition.
This has happened multiple times starting in Jan. 2014 and most recently April 15, 2014: come to a stop at red light (or stop sign) and when I step on gas to go when light turns green, etc. , no power or, at most, car barely coasts to shoulder of road. It does not sound like the engine engages. I turn the ignition off and then on again and the car runs. This happens when eco stop/start function is on and also happens when it is off. I am afraid to drive the car because this happens without warning. I could be driving the car for a week with no problem and then it happens.
