Steering Problems of Mercedes Benz CLA250

On 4/27 I was driving home on the freeway and there were little to no cars around me. There were no large trucks or debris coming from above me and there was no harsh weather. I heard a loud pop when I was driving and I pulled over and my whole sunroof shattered. The sunroof also has not been opened that day. The problem won’t be suspension is that when going over rough roads or bumps, my car squeaks. As for the steering, when I drive above 50 mph and I brake, the car shakes. I’ve already taken it to two car shops to get it fixed and it problem persists.

The system that appeared to malfunction is the front airbags sensors. I drove past an accident on the freeway the left by some rocks/debris in the road. I steered away from the rocks avoiding my tires, however, both of my front airbags deploy as if I collided with something. This has completely disabled my vehicle on the freeway, and shattered my windshield. I had the car towed to a repair shop for further diagnostic, and they confirmed there is no front end impact or collision on my vehicle. There is minor undercarriage scrapping, but it isn't near the airbag sensor. There were no warning lights on my vehicle prior to this, and my vehicle has been in no accidents. What caused my airbags to deploy if there was no impact?.

Was driving on a road with 3 lanes . I was in the right lane was switching to middle when my stering and brakes just locked up I was not able to control the car I ended up all the way in the left lane crashed into a car and ended up on the divider.

Hello, my 2017 cla mercedes was recalled April 1 2021. They said its a hole in the steering shaft and it can lead to noises and crash! its been over 3 months and the manufacturer has not fixed my car. Everytime I call they don't have an update on when it's going to be fixed. I have my family who I drive around in this car and I'm worried the steering might cause harm to us. We need assistance in getting this resolved. Thanks.

While driving 30 mph I received a red parking brake error and my car began to be very difficult to steer. I then pulled over and received a yellow pre-safe mode error which illuminated the check engine light, abs light, parking light. I took it took the dealer and was told it was a right tire sensor. This appears to be an ongoing problem with these cars and it's definitely not safe. This definitely needs to be recalled.

My car has shut off on me while driving two times and road side assistance came out two different occasion. I kept up with maintenace on the vehicle. I went to pep boys up the st from my house instead of mercedes for oil changes. Out of no where my engine light came on and I towed my car two mercedes to fix. They said my engine blew n the turbo . They won't cover it under warranty since I gave them all my maintence receipts from pep boys . This was a demo car I originally leased and had it for 2 years with 9 months left on the car. The recalls on the VIN were not fixed and mercedes is trying to send me away with a unfixed car. Please help.

I was driving my car when all of a sudden the car slowed down and the steering became stiff. The pre safe light came on the screen along with "parking brake" "traction control" although the parking brake was not applied. I had to have my car towed home because it was unsafe to drive.

I was driving my cla in the rain on the 405n in irvine, CA at about 4pm to go to my new place of employment for onboarding. I was going approximately 25-30mph because of the weather and traffic it was very slow. I put my blinker on to merge over into the second lane and my car beeped and automatically went into neutral. I couldn't do anything, it felt like my steering locked up and I could only slightly move the wheel, my blind spot assist was inoperable, my dashboard lit up every light/warning sign it could and I could not switch gears. I had to slowly roll two lanes over into the emergency lane while it was pouring rain. I almost got rear ended because of how slow my vehicle was moving over. I did not turn the vehicle off because I wasn't sure if I would be able to restart it. I waited on the side of the freeway for 2 hours to get towed to the nearest dealership which was newport beach fletcher jones. About a week prior to this I had my battery changed at mercedes because it completely died and wouldn't hold a charge. When I got to the vehicle I was informed that 2-3 other cla's came in the same day, with the same problem.

Sensor malfunctions, battery power loss with complete electrical shutdown, faulty wire harnesses, locked up steering wheel while in motion on freeway, head unit defaults, faulty tires with blistering, countless recalls.

Takata recall. Contacted Mercedes Benz greenway spoke with service department explained that I checked upon mail notification of a recall on my vehicle. Spoke with receptionist who told me that there was no recall (tammy or chrystal). Called back and luis told me that there was a recall but no solution. What do I do? continue driving at risk with my child in the car!!!!???.

Bought the cla 250 brand new in 2014, vehicle has now twice gone in to pre-safe mode and inoperative mode while driving. The car switches to neutral as I am driving and then refuses to shift in to drive or reverse leaving me stranded in the streets on two occasion which could have caused two very serious accidents. The car on the second time had to be towed to dealership who could'nt find anything wrong with the car. There solution was more of a guess about a cpu needing to be replaced.

While driving on the highway without notice my car completly shut off. Several notifications appear on the dash screen "inoperable see owners manual" this is the 2nd time in two days where this same dangerous life threatening issue occured.

As I was driving on the highway around 65 miles per hour, the vehicle's check engine came up and said " inoperative, pre safe inactive" I freaked out. I was at highways speeds and it was inoperative. I noticed that the power steering was affected and the vehicle was unresponsive when I accelerated. The abs system was disabled, I was scared even to brake because I know that when the abs system is disabled the brakes can lock up and cause an accident, injuries and even death. I have noticed that many Cla250 owners have the same problem.
