Transmission Not Go Into Gear Problems of Mercedes Benz CLA250

The vehicle after starting would not go into gear from park. The message on the dash read "service required do not shift gears visit dealer". The vehicle was unable to be put in gear to drive or neutral only park. .

While traveling with my wife and newborn on highway 64 my 2014 cla mb cut off( while in motion ) and gave a code 'do not shift gears 'visit dealer. Somehow the car switch to netural while I coast the car to a safe edge of the road. We were terrified!! next it gave a transmission code in red to do not shift visit dealer. I'm not sure if any recalls but this is a safety that needs attention!!.

I was driving my cla in the rain on the 405n in irvine, CA at about 4pm to go to my new place of employment for onboarding. I was going approximately 25-30mph because of the weather and traffic it was very slow. I put my blinker on to merge over into the second lane and my car beeped and automatically went into neutral. I couldn't do anything, it felt like my steering locked up and I could only slightly move the wheel, my blind spot assist was inoperable, my dashboard lit up every light/warning sign it could and I could not switch gears. I had to slowly roll two lanes over into the emergency lane while it was pouring rain. I almost got rear ended because of how slow my vehicle was moving over. I did not turn the vehicle off because I wasn't sure if I would be able to restart it. I waited on the side of the freeway for 2 hours to get towed to the nearest dealership which was newport beach fletcher jones. About a week prior to this I had my battery changed at mercedes because it completely died and wouldn't hold a charge. When I got to the vehicle I was informed that 2-3 other cla's came in the same day, with the same problem.

I was driving on a main road when suddenly the car shuts off completely. I could not get it to start, nor put it on neutral gear, to at least push it away. A message in red pops up on the screen that says "service required, do not shift gears, visit dealer". I could not push the car at all, because the gear shifted automatically to parking and it won't move to neutral. I was stuck on the main road for 15 minutes. I was lucky not to get hit or run over by the incoming traffic. I caused a panic on the street because I was blocking it. Fortunately, a police car showed up, and the officer helped me by diverting the traffic away from me. I had the car checked two months prior to this incident at the dealer, and they told me that there is nothing wrong with the car, and that they have updated its software to the latest version. I had the car towed back to mercedes-benz now, and will wait the results.
