I was driving my 2014 mercedes cla 250 on [xxx] traveling away from fairfax county and towards prince william county on christmas morning right before [xxx]. The front right passenger side wheel started shaking and then flew off. I brought the car to a stop on the left hand shoulder of the road on three wheels. My wheel hit the metal fence and then ricocheted back across to the left crossing both sides of traffic (four lanes), hitting a concrete wall and becoming airborne before landing in the stream below. It was sunny and there was no rain. Speed was 45 mph. Witnesses observed the incident and I have their contact information. A police report was filed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The rims of the mercedes continually crack with moderate low speed driving. Has happened 4 to 5 times with under 50,000 miles, leaving me with constant flat tires, once on the george washington bridge and once at night in a deserted area with zero warning. Luckily, I was able to remove my vehicle to the side. I was towed to mercedes and they suggested changing out all 4 tire rims without a warranty as will happen again. Very expensive. The coupe models have this problem after 2019. Material for rims came from china, not germany. I found a good rim repair shop and have done 4 times. He said he gets these all the time and there can be no warranty as the design of the tire and rims is flawed. 175. 00 per rim. Mercedes of 2019 and forward as well as BMW's of this model (a coupe) have this as recurring problem so no warranty on the work. Clearly a materials, manufacturing defect that mercedes won't own. . I carry a ryobi blower in the car and have to blow up my tires every morning which deflate every night. !! crazy.

The contact owns a 2019 mercedes-benz Cla250. The contact stated that on several occasions, several cracks have been discovered on all four tires upon inspection. The vehicle had been taken to both an independent mechanic and the dealer and both informed that contact that the tires needed to be replaced. The contact stated that some of the cracks were recently formed. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The vehicle experienced a blowout of both tires on the drivers side while driving at high speeds on the highway. The sidewalls of both tires ruptured, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and wreck the suspension. This accident occured on March 26, 2022 (pending repair invoice). A similar incident in the same vehicle occured on March 20, 2021 that caused a blowout of both driver's side tires (attached repair invoice) after hitting a minor pothole. An additional two tires were replaced in July 2021 (attached repair invoice) and in January 2022. The high speed blowouts caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle at high speeds and almost caused a multi-car accident. The dealer has not acknowledged that the vehicle has any tire issues in spite of having to replace 5 tires due to blowouts and an additional tire due (done at another vendor) to a sidewall bubble within 14,000 miles of driving. There were no issues with the vehicle at the time of any accident. In fact the dealer had inspected the vehicle and tires the same week of the most recent accident (attached service invoice). It is my impression that the persistent tire issues represent a serious and dangerous problem with this vehicle.

I have had this vehicle for a year and a half and I don't drive it much. The vehicle has 12,000 miles on it and I'm a very careful driver. I very rarely hit any potholes and have never been involved in an accident. After my tire kept losing air, I took it to the dealership to find out that not only is one of the rims cracked but the other three rims are bent. I have no idea how this could have happened, considering how careful I am and that no one else has ever driven my vehicle before. I strongly believe that I was sold a vehicle with defective wheels and through research, I see that many other cla owners are experiencing the same issues. These wheels cost about $1,000 each to replace and have them installed by the dealership and this is not only very costly but dangerous for mercedes to continue making.
I leased this vehicle end of September 2016 but have replaced tires 6 times within last two years due to bubble in side of the tires. I don't think it is issue with tires since I have 2016 BMW with same tires without any issues. It could the rim size or the suspension on this vehicle cause tires to bubble up. I have been leasing cars for 30 years and never had issues like this. Numerous time I have asked the dealer to find out the root cause for it but no luck so far. The issue here is it putting myself and my family danger of our life because it is happening without even going thru a pot hole. Each time when it happened, it is causing me to spend 350 to replace each tire. The transmission also failed last week while I was driving on a highway but lucky I was able to pull to a side without getting hit by another car. The transmission should not fail when the car only have 37,000. 00 miles. I am not sure if any other complains was files regarding the same issues. I want benz to replace these tires at free of cost till they find out the issue and fix it.

Good day, I am attaching photos of a failed rim from my 2014 cla 250. The car has just over 54,000 miles on it and the failure-crack has propagated to where the tire will no longer hold air and car is not safe to drive. This is the 2nd failed rim, the first cracked in a similar fashion at just over 44,000 miles and was replaced by my local mercedes dealer at not charge. They will not replace the 2nd failed rim. While we live in the mid-western USA (chicago area) where the roads are rough and there are potholes, there is no evidence of damage or deformation in the area where this crack formed. It's unacceptable that mercedes-benz will not stand behind their product. I have been driving in the chicago area for 40 years and have never, never had a crack in a rim like this. I believe this is a design defect that mercedes-benz needs to correct and replace faulty rims on owners cars. Please feel free to contact me for any additional details you need. I will be sending this same message to the NHTSA. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The tires blew out on the NJ turnpike while driving approximately 67 miles per hour. They are pirelli cinturato p7 run flat 225 40r18. One of the other tires has a bubble in it. The vehicles lost control and was swerving severely right and left almost doing a full 180 degree turn in the middle of the highway which nearly hit other vehicles driving over 65 miles per hour. Vehicle is 2 years old and had tire issues at least 4 times prior to this incident. Tire had pressure issue and was taken for service to mercedes of cherry hill NJ approximately a month before this blow out.
All 4 tires have blown out, something is wrong with this vehicle. I have never hit anything to make them blow, just normal careful driving. They are blowing out for no reason and it's a safety hazard dates 2/11/2018 2/17/2018 3/1/2018 and the first tire blew approx March 2016.

Sensor malfunctions, battery power loss with complete electrical shutdown, faulty wire harnesses, locked up steering wheel while in motion on freeway, head unit defaults, faulty tires with blistering, countless recalls.
My tires had less than 15k miles and the tire has a bulge on the sidewall. I mentioned to the dealer and they said that is normal for these tires. It now has 35k miles on the tire and it will not pass virginia state inspection. I now have to buy 2 to 4 new tires due to this defect poor workmanship. The dealership said that this is not covered under road hazard and everyone is telling me it happened going over a pothole. The tire is now dangerous to drive on and can have a blow out at anytime. This is an unsafe condition in that the tires are new and should have bulged out like this rendering them unusable. Pzero 225/40r 18 92h.
I am writing to raise serious concerns about the run-flat tires installed on my 2014 cla 250. After 12,830 miles, I experienced my first flat tire. After consulting the owner's manual, I learned that I had run-flat (moextended) tires and could proceed (having the ability to drive 50 miles on the flat, according to my manual). I was shocked to learn that this tire, could not be repaired and that my only option was to purchase a new tire. On 8/29/16, I was traveling south on highway 101 in a very rural part of humboldt county in northern California, and experienced another flat tire (again with one of the factory installed tires). From a deserted gas station in a place called weott, I tried to call mercedes-benz roadside assistance but after being put on hold and trying to navigate the menu, I gave up. I knew that there were only small towns for approximately 75 miles south of me, so I chose to return to fortuna (where my sister lived), approximately 20 miles to the north). The mileage at the time of this flat was 22, 684. Just a few miles away from my destination, I pulled over because the vibration in the car had turned to shaking and I was finding it very difficult to control my vehicle. I became frightened that I might lose control. I must reiterate that at this point I was extremely frightened for my safety and pulled over on the side of highway 101 and called for a tow truck. I had driven cautiously for only 25 miles on the flat tire, nothing near the 50 miles promised in my auto manual. At the tire center, I opted to purchase two non run flat tires. 1) is there a quality issue that needs to be investigated regarding the factory installed moextended tires? 2) clearly the moextended tires are not designed to be run when flat for 50 miles, and that needs to be changed in the auto manual.
We purchased a brand new Mercedes Benz 2016 5 months ago. I am driving about 28 miles from my starting point and come to find two of my front tires with air bubbles. Come to find out 1 of my tires eventually popped and the other still had an air bubble. Took it to benz dealership and was told nothing can be replaced under warranty. Pretty much they are selling defective tires and not offering any sort of replacement or prorated coverage. I drove from queens, NY to new jersey. Parked the car for 4 hours and saw one of the tires go flat after it had a bubble. What was worse is that I could have been involved in a crash/accident with these defective tires.
Since I bought this car brand new in December 2014, I have had to replace all 4 tires at least twice each. They constantly get bubbles on the sidewalls. I have the sports edition, so I have the goodyear runsflats which cost over $350 each.
Tires lose air all during these 3 yrs that I had this car lease, always at the dealer, I'm afraid for my safety due to the imbalanced tire pressure. Can't make plans to drive it far, afraid tires might cause me to lose control and create an accident!! many times I can't go right away, because it takes time out of my life. . . . I work 12 hour days, I bought this luxury car for its name and its reliable , actually it's the opposite because they are not able to fix it!!! frustrated!!.
The factory tires on the Mercedes Benz cla 250 are defective. All 4 tires got bubbles in them which is a danger to anyone driving as the tires could blow at any time. These bubbles are not obvious so I didn't know about them until I brought in for service. Less than a year all 4 tires had issues and after doing research I have seen multiple posts about these tires and bubble issues. Goodyear f1run flats.
