I have a 203 mercedes-benz Clk320 with only 32,300 miles on it. The speedometer needle doesn't work on my instrument cluster. I get a digital readout , but nothing from the needle. All other gauges work fine. I understand this is an issue with other mb vehicles, but I was unable to find my particular model listed as qualifying for the recall. I have been quoted $1,000 to replace the instrument cluster and feel that I should not have to pay for this since it is a known and somewhat widespread issue.
Mercedes benz Clk320 w208 instrument cluster led problem. It has a faulty display readouts that I am experiencing. It is a safety problem since you can't see which gear you are in and that could cause a driver error that could lead to an accident. It also has problems displaying temperature and time, but the main concern is the display of gears!.

I own a 2001 Mercedes Benz clk 320. My concern is over its faulty display readouts that I hear many other owners are experiencing. The safety concern is that the left half of the display is very weak/dim and getting harder and harder to read. It's hazardous as I have to squint to read the display which takes my eyes off the road longer than they should be. As part of this cluster, the temperature pixels are not functional which has been unreadable for some time now. The main display issue started a few months ago but I fear will worsen. Is there a recall on this or is one being considered?
thank you for your attention. ".
