Nine problems related to air bag have been reported for the 2005 Mercedes Benz E320. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata recall: the srs light in my vehicle has been on for a while. It just happened overnight without any reason. My concern is what would happen if I got into an accident, would the air bags still work. I'm wondering if this issue comes from the manufacture because I have heard of some of the benz from this year with the same issue.
The car has been hacked into numerous times. The hackers can lock and unlock the doors, shut it down on the freeway during rush hour, control the brakes, shift gears, access the front hood and steal oil. They recently put black oil in the car which disabled the car. They also turned on the check engine light several times which prevented the car from being register even after a $1,300 dollar repair. Now the jacket are controlling the air conditioning even though the battery is has no charge and the rfin the cat is too high to were it knocks out bees when they pass the driver side door. Also l have to walk 100ft away from the car to protect myself from falling asleep. Now l cannot sit in the car with having to rush to the rest room. I was able to cover the driver side door air bag temporarily to stop this but now it is worse. When l get out of the car l am fine. There are unusual noises coming from the car even though it is disabled. Also the hackers can control exactly which part of the body to hit with extreme cold. The complete functionality of the car to is n their hands. Mercedes benz USA refuses to acknowledge car hacker and told me not to contact them again I n several occasions. The inside of the car had been destroyed because unlimited access. Numerous police report s have been made to no avail.
The contact owns a 2005 mercedes-benz E320. When the vehicle was started, the front passenger air bag warning chime was audible. The contact stated that the warning chime continued until the seat belt was secured even though there was no passenger seated in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. Mercedes-benz of florence (2199 david h mcleod blvd, florence, SC 29501, (843) 410-5188) stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed, but declined to do so. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
Purchase this car in February 2017 smells like gas is seeping out from somewhere. Stopped in the middle of highway. Now having problems with starting car and airbag suspension light is on.
I was driving a 2005 E320 mercedes and had another vehicle passes the stop sign and we had a car accident. None of the airbags in my vehicle deplored and I was injured.
Srs malfunction light goes on.
"airbag failure" the srs light came on my 2005 mercedes E320 cdi. I paid the dealer $100+ to pull the codes and it was the airbag connector in the steering column. Since I work on the car myself and it was just out of out of warranty (30,000 miles but 4 years and a couple of months). I bought another connector and replaced it myself. I have a 1992 mercedes and it has gold pins on the airbag circuit whereas this 'new' car has grey 'zinc' pins.
Srs light on - message on dash that srs has malfunctioned. Took car to dealer on 2/20/06 and was told I could wait for car. As it turned out I did not get my car back until 6pm on 2/22/06. Per dealer's repair invoice. . . Check codes and evaluate. Check actual values and check dtb. Perform repairs, replace wiring to steering wheel control module. On 06/29/06 srs light on again with malfunction message. Took to dealer and advised same problem as on 2/20/06. Car is at dealer awaiting repair and has been promised for today, 6/30/06.
Srs (passive restraint system failure) warning lamp came on while driving the vehicle. The vehicle (2005 Mercedes Benz c230 sport sedan) was taken to the dealer as directed by the owner's manual. Vehicle has been at the dealer for repairs since 7/26/04. On 8/17/04 the vehicle was still not repaired. The service manager told me that there are over twenty (20) vehicles with the same failure awaiting parts. Service manager told me that the car is unsafe to drive until repaired and would not let me take the car from the repair facility.
