The contact attempted to merge to the emergency lane, when the brake pedal was depressed and sank to the floor failing to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was turn off and restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician stated that the sensotronic brake control (sbc) unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.
