Vehicle started smoking and caught fire while I was driving. Pulled over and vehicle erupted in flames. It took firefighters 2 hours to put out that fire.
"takata recall" my Mercedes Benz E500 back air shocks stopped lifting the car when I started it in the morning and the red indicator light want go off unless I stop it will lift up an then goes back down.
My car stopped working completely. Shop tells me its the sbc pump.
Car makes an unusual, loud, humming noise from the rear of the car, upon starting and constantly, no matter the speed. On occasion, there is no noise, but more often than not, the humming is present. The noise emanates from the rear of the car, and can be heard on the interior and from the outside. Have brought the car into dealership 3x for the issue, and they claim they cannot duplicate the problem, and claim there is nothing wrong. It has been happening for the last 10k miles. Have also experienced the gas smell issue since 35k miles, and lost the brakes randomly; both issues described by others.
As I was driving to work, car just lowered out of no where speed automatically decreased, and red light came on saying car too low stop car, it scared me that is so dangerous when you are going at a certain speed and then it drops out of no where. Then I hear air leaking from back but not out of tire.
My car battery kept dyeing and all of the speakers on the right side was not working. In fact when the car was off those speakers would make static noises. I had an electronic auto store look at the car and they told me they could not find the problem, but when they posed the question to their online site, the answer came back as the "audio gateway" being defective. They were other owners of the same car with the same complaint and this was the problem. I took the car to the mercedes dealer, told them of the battery dyeing problem and their diagnosis was the same, "audio gateway". I paid the dealer to fix the problem and they stated that replaced the part. The total cost was approx. $1,258. 00, which included labor.
