1 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Mercedes Benz E Class

Failure Date: 11/25/2013

Whenever my car filled up (not over fill) with gasoline, the strong gasoline smell will last a few days. The car was investigated by mercedes dealer, they found fuel puddled at sender underneath the rear seat on left side. They stated that the car is not safe for use at this time due to fire hazard. However, they won't fix it as manufacture defect and would charge me for $1,300. 00 and I didn't repair it since it is too expensive. I also the fuel sending unit is not the part that need regular service and should not be ware out. Mercedes benz need to issue a recall on this problem.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Mercedes Benz E Class

Failure Date: 11/22/2013

Each time after fill up the gasoline (no over fill), I have to smell the fuel smell for one or two days. I had this problem since 2009, but the odor is getting extremely strong. I went to a local mercedes deal for inspection, they charged me $175 and insisted that it is not recall item. The inspection shows: 73412 fuel sender leaking fuel, vehicle not safe for use at this time due to fire hazard, inspected vehicle found gasoline leaking from rear of vehicle, removed rear seat and inspection cover for fuel sender, found fuel puddled at sender. I think the leaking is caused by defected parts which suppose to last life time long. Mercedes should recall this item.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Mercedes Benz E Class

Failure Date: 11/18/2013

The car exudes a very strong smell of gasoline. The gasoline odor is so strong that I can no longer park the car in the garage of our house as the fumes are so overpowering they seep into the home living areas and cannot be tolerated (breathing). Overall, the gas fumes are strong enough that I do fear that something external (cooking, water heater pilot light) could possibly cause spontaneous fume ignition/fire.

Intermittently while driving, the engine completely died. The dealer has been unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle is a 2001 mercedes e320. The engine would shut off intermittently. After about 5 minutes the vehicle would restart. The consumer took the vehicle in several times for repair but the problem could not be found. The washer tube came off and caused washer fluid to leak. The fuel gauge failed which caused it to read incorrectly. The head rest motor failed.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2003 Mercedes Benz E Class

Failure Date: 01/02/2003

I own a 2003 e-class Mercedes Benz purchased this year from ralley motors, roslyn, new york. Since I took the title to the vehicle, there has been uncontrolled mild acceleration at low speeds, the car bucks and shakes upon DE-acceleration resulting in my having lost control of the vehicle and consequently requiring my jamming abruptly on the brakes to avoid hitting another vehicles and pedestrians. In addition, the car had significantly steered to the right at all times, requiring my constantly having to steer to the left in order to drive straight ahead. The dealership has admitted that it can not repair the transmission problem, ie; the uncontrolled change of speed, bucking and acceleration of the motor vehicle. They have also replaced the instrument cluster which I believe is an important vehicle computer which controls many systems of the car, and the vehicle now has the third instrument cluster, all in one year of ownership, all due to product defects! the service manager has admitted to me that there is a design defect in the transmission which there allegedly is no fix to correct the problem. I was informed that due to horrible gas mileage, the torque converter of the transmission is specifically designed to lock up at low speeds, and this is the reason why the 2003 and 2004 e-class automobiles have this transmission problem. The service manager had advised me that he know of no fix from the factory. The dealership became frustrated when I expressed my displeasure, and has now informed me that they will no longer service my brand new automobile. The consumer stated the engine stalled, the wiper blades were noisy.
