While exiting the hwy the car slow down on its own from about 60 to around 45 without breaking. Inoperative see owner's manual appeared on the dashboard and the car started loosing power. When I tried to accelerate it did would not speed up pass 50. After coming to a traffic light I tried to accelerate and it was very slow even when the pedal was all the way down to the floor. Luckily there was no one on the road at the time. I pump the pedal several times trying to speed up and it would not go pass 55-60 despite pressing the gas to the floor. After I got home I turned the car off and on then drive it again, acceleration seemed to come back and the lights were no longer on the dashboard.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Mercedes Benz GLK350

Failure Date: 01/09/2015

I was stopped at a stop sign when the vehicles rpm jumped to 4000, I quickly put the vehicle in "park". Then turned the engine off and started the engine again. The rpm jumped to 4000 again. I turned the engine off and started it again. This happened twice within a week. Both times at a stop - once at a stop sign and once at a traffic signal. Took the vehicle into the mercedes dealer but mercedes service states there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Almost exactly 1 year ago, my wife was in an accident because the vehicle "lunged" forward. She has not driven the vehicle since that incident and I've been driving this vehicle approximately 2 days a week for about a year. I hadn't understood her concern completely until it happened to me while I was driving the vehicle last week. There is a serious problem but mercedes is saying there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz GLK350

Failure Date: 09/11/2014

When driving 40 mph or more, the engine stalls and the unit in the dashboard that contains the odometer and speed, begins to turn white in color. It appears the software error within the engine control unit causes the vehicle to stall when driving at a certain speed or when I am coasting to a stop, such as at a traffic light. My vehicle begins to shut-down in the mist of my driving at 40 mph or more, however, when I put my foot on the brake, the engine picks up speed. These events are terrifying, because I can't tell if the vehicle is going to shut down in the middle of the highway and increase my risk of crashing. These events have been ongoing for over one year. I have taken the vehicle to the mercedes dealership several times, but they can't resolve the problems. I truly need help from the Mercedes Benz manufacturer and/or the NHTSA because I am afraid the vehicle engine will cause me to lose control and hurt myself or another driver.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Mercedes Benz GLK350

Failure Date: 08/30/2010

Circumstances leading up to an accident on my Mercedes Benz e350 2010 which started rolling on a hill while the car was in park. On Monday August 30, 2010 I drove my vehicle to the intersection of delavall and tillotson Ave. In the bronx. I parked my care on delavall Ave. And put the car in park with the engine running. My salesman remained in the care to make telephone calls in the comfort of the cars air-conditioning. I checked twice to make sure the car was in park and then I left my salesman in the car. I went into my customers building and was in there for more than fifteen minutes when I came back to the car and asked my salesman to accompany me back into the building. I instructed my salesman to turn off the car. When he who is in the passenger seat reached over to remove the key from the ignition the car started to roll. I screamed for him to stop the car but he could not climb over the console and apply the brake neither could he move the shift selector. The car rolled downhill for some 30 ft. And crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle. Fortunately my salesman was not injured and the car that was hit was an abandoned vehicle with no plates. The damage to my vehicle was to my passenger side front bumper. I have been driving for almost 60 years and have never had an experience like this with any previous vehicles. Once again the car was parked on a slight grade in park for more than 15 minutes when the key was removed the vehicle began to roll down the street. Fortunately no one was killed or injured and there were no severe damages to either vehicles or any buildings. However the outcome could have been tragic.
