Wheel Problems of Mercedes Benz GLK350

On [xxx], my mother was driving our 2010 mercedes-benz glk 350 to work around 6:30 am when the vehicle suddenly caught on fire without warning. The car was completely destroyed in the fire. Thankfully, she was able to exit safely. After doing research online, we found many reports of 2010 glk 350 models catching fire due to fuel system issues and leaks, which appear to be common with this year and model. We were surprised to learn that our VIN currently shows no active recalls, even though the issue seems widespread. We can provide photos of the car before and after the fire, towing documentation, and the police/fire report. The cleanup and towing bills have been expensive, and we are filing this report so NHTSA can investigate whether this is a safety defect that should result in an official recall. There are two issues with my vehicle, both started recently. The mileage is only around 33000 miles. The two front tire pressure warnings keep coming on, and I have tried multiple times to correct this, doesn't matter if it exactly correct on reading for pump, or above or below, it just keeps saying they need adjusting. It is only the two front ones and they have been doing this for about 2 weeks now. Second issue has been a recall for other mercedes models but not mine, and it could be that there are much fewer of these on the road and had less complaints. It is exactly same issue that other models that have been recalled. My reversing camera has started to either not work at all, or come on and go off, then reset and come back on again, however this is making it impossible to rely on in a reversing situation. It is basically dangerous as I can be halfway into a manoever and it stops working.

Driving 25 mph around a curve when my car lost control, despite my best attempts my car would not allow me to take control or to break. My car went from 25 mph to 60 mph through a two lane traffic street, forcing me to swerve in and out of traffic merely missing six cars and a semi trailer truck, spinning my car around twice and facing the opposite direction of traffic.

While parking my car in a garage, it accelerated. Upon applying the brakes, it speeded up causing me to crash into a concrete barrier. Air bag did not deploy.

Takata recall I have been calling my dealership since I got a notice there was a problem with the takata airbags and nothing is being done. I cannot get an answer as to when they intend to replace them. They are not doing anything to remedy the problem, and are evasive when you question them. Moreover the perrilli tires on my car are constantly going flat. I have had to replace 13 tires. And my car has only 44,000 miles. They blow up while I am driving. . . It's never a slow leak.

The tires on mercedes vehicles are unsafe. The are very fragile and are very quick to blow out or deflate. In less than 2yrs, we have replaced 5 tires. There have been 343 complaints to the office of consumer affairs about the continental tires on mercedes vehicles. . Read more...

Car c 300. Did not see that option. Also tires original michelin unknown info. Multiple interior trim and seat repairs. Problem with power folding mirrors getting stuck or creaking. Multiple visits for repair of tire light issues. Was originally told it would come on during hot/cold days. Upon review after multiple issues, tires x 2 replaced before 15k miles. Continues problems. Countless review by 3 dealerships. Was told due to cosmetic issues on rims. B3 maintenance done @ $500. Told again to ck tires due to light. Had another set of tires placed around 40k in. May 2010. For b3 told lt back tire needed replacing. Went back to tire shop who said both needed to be replaced, and rims. Was told by mercedes rims not necessary. After a few weeks tire light back on and left back losing air rapidly. Mercedes roadside assistance called. Found lg crack back l wheel. Spare placed. Another independent car care reviewed all wheels. Found another cracked wheel back right and two low spots front. Took back to mercedes alex rodriguez, who stated front were fine by visual only, and back right needed cosmetic outer which they covered. Gave car back after having 8 days for cosmetic work. Unable to tell me if diagnostics were performed. Nothing in paperwork. Would not let me wait until information was verified. Drove approximately 20 miles on hwy and car began to rattle. Had boyfriend look @ car. Found wheel cover wasn't there; also two air covers missing and two loosely fastened. Called dealer to come pick up vehicle for another review.
