The wiring harness for the seatbelt pretensioner wore through in its normal factory installed location and shorted out, causing the air bag light to come on. No modifications have ever been done to the vehicle to disturb this path and causing wire chafing. It is highly doubtful the pretensioner would have worked either, as 3 out of the 4 wires had their insulation worn through. Beeping belt sign on for passage side - when beeping, seat belt doesn't hold. (not catching belt just slipping out).
Driver seatbelt fails to retract and passenger will not retract.
