8/1/2021 accident involving 2008 mercedes Ml320 cdi >recall faulty tow hitch< mercedes has refused to conduct an investigation and resolve these damages. While injured (both myself and 9 yr old son w/ a heart condition), no serious injuries or fatalities happened during the accident. It resulted in totaling the vehicle and our camper. Recall doc's show that mercedes of new orleans completed the recall; however, they either falsified disclosing they did the repair or conduct poor workmanship when repairing the hitch. While driving the hitch broke/cracked resulting the camper flipping over and slamming into the truck. I have photos along w/ consulted w/ certified welder confirming the weld was not properly done. More photos if needed.

"takats recall" 1st issue I noticed is when I gave someone a jump off a dead car battery. As I was driven I noticed my car battery light came on meaning my battery was decreasing power and it did I was on my way home driven I noticed my car losing power in the car shut completely off so I pulled to the side and I called someone to give me a jump the car started back up drove about 3, blocks and the car shut completely off again so I purchased a brand new battery replacing the old battery with an new one. Got another jump to give the the battery some extra juice. After I received the jump I'm back on the road. In the ancient occur again so I called someone to give me a jump. This time the car didn't start. So I had to get it tow home. Got home did some research in found out it was the alternator. Replace the old alternator with a new one. 2nd issue I noticed after I replaced the old alternator with the new one I noticed my two fans blower will continuously run for hours when I take my car keys out of the ignition. And due to that that cause my drained my battery causing me to lose power and my car won't be able to start when I put my key in the ignition I don't kno if they connected a wire to keep running if so he was to supposed to tell me that which he didn't. 3rd issue I noticed I recently added new front pads and rotor's new rear pads and rotors 1 new rear passsger side brake caliper. My brake lights still appeared to pop up I told the merchant he told me it could be a sensor failure and get check out at a Mercedes Benz dealer. 4th issue the triangle light located in the center of dash flashes occasionally causing under certain circumstances, tapping the brake pedal may not automatically disengage cruise control as expected in certain model year recall subject: suspension: front control arm upper arm . Cpsc:2009 Mercedes Benz Ml320 with approved, dealer installed trailer tow hitch purchased used on 9/05/2017. Rated capacity is 7200 lbs. On Monday, 9/11/2017, attached an 2005 airstream trailer, weighing 5240 lbs. , moving out of driveway, heard a loud "pop" sound. . On 9/22/2017, and confirmed as faulty, due to lack of penetration at the point of welds.
While driving today at approx 20-25 mph brakes suddenly applied on their own and my vehicle swerved and came to a halt. Waited several minutes and restarted the vehicle. Drove on the 101 and 405 freeways without further incident. Drove later on the same day, and the same thing happened again. This is extremely dangerous. What if I had been driving on the freeway? I refuse to drive this vehicle again. Is there a recall on this? I have seen a lot of similar incidents online.

She was traveling about 45 mph when all of a sudden the brakes locked up and she burned rubber on the road before she was able to stop, however she was in the other lane. I was just thanking god another car was not coming the other way. I won't let her drive it and ordered a yaw sensor for it because when I went online to read way this would happen it seems like it happens a lot to the 2001 and it turned out to be the yaw sensor. When we get it in we will try to drive it in and get the codes but I can't believe you have not done a recall on this part. I almost lost my daughter because of this. Please look into this, it's and easy fix but the part is expense. Thank you barbara rae.
Check engine light warning with code #20be1b. Repair indicates need of diesel exhaust fluid (def) heater repair kit. Diesel exhaust fluid system is part of emissions system. Mb dealership says no warranty for repair. Internet research widespread problem with def system around 50,000 miles.
My 2002 Ml320 cluster display lights on my dash all light up, the check engine light comes on, the speedometer stops working actually goes to zero. Once the car comes to a complete stop it accelerates very slowly and will not shift out of first gear. This is very frightening for someone in traffic and this happens without warning. Please investigate this issue before someone is rear ended and dies.
Ml320 bluetec, randomly loses power. The power will be restored once the car is turned off and on again. Car has been to the dealer 7 times for repair of this one issue, including twice in a state with limited power. Dealer has done multiple software updates, turbo replacement, exhaust valves replacement and the issue is still present. On one of the last occasions this happened, the car lost power when trying to merge on to the hwy. This almost resulted in me being rear ended by a big rig. Luckily I was able to pull to the shoulder before I was rear ended. This is serious safety concern that needs to be addressed and rectified. As of 02/17/2014 this issue has not been corrected.
The contact owns a 2009 mercedes ml 320. The contact stated that the trailer hitch fractured and detached from the vehicle at the seams while going through a car wash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was advised that the failure was caused by rust of the hitch. The dealer recommended that the contact use a different and larger vehicle to haul a trailer. The vehicle was left with the dealer for repairs. The contact was concerned because he was adhering to the hailing specifications listed for his year, make and model. The contact stated referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 08v242000 (trailer hitches). The failure and current mileages were 38,000.
While driving 30 mph the consumers vehicle was hit on the drivers side and subsequently rolled two times before it landed back on all four tires. None of the six air bags deployed and the Mercedes Benz tele-aid system never activated therefore the service center was not immediately informed of the accident.
