Sun Roof Problems of Mercedes Benz ML320

The contact owns a 2002 Mercedes Benz Ml320. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, a loud noise heard as the sun roof exploded into thousands of glass shards. The driver and passenger both sustained lacerations from the broken glass. A dealer was notified and advised the contact to go to a salvage yard for parts to repair the vehicle himself. Sun roof parts failed, wind deflector components failed while moon roof was being opened. When I tried to close the roof, it would not do so until I removed the bent part along with deflector. This is actually the second issue with this roof. It was taken to the dealer when new to get the height adjusted with roof line.

While driving at 45 mph, the sun roof assembly shattered and caused injury to the consumer.

The seat belt system did not work properly. Dealer has inspected, and could not duplicate or correct the problem. . The sun roof blew off the vehicle, the abs failed, the door locks, handles and side mirrors were also inoperative.

Vehicle was parked when consumer noticed oil on the ground. Vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to mercedes. Engine cut completely off twice. All the tires and hub caps are black from the brake fluid splattering. The sunroof makes a lot of noise while driving especially while on the highway.

My 1998 mlk 320 is going into the shop for the tenth time in 31 months, and the only reason it hasn't been in more often is I live 30 miles from the dealer. The car has been a nightmare. The problems are numerous; many have never been successfully repaired. The main problem that started not long after I purchased the car (new) is, when I start it the car dies. I have to repeat the process and eventually the car will start. There are also a myriad of small, continuous problems; windows that won't go up, locks that lock and unlock on their own, plastic parts that have fallen off. It has is awful. It makes my 95 Ford ranger truck seem like a dream auto.

Sun roof molding failed. Yh.

Power sunroof failed.

This vehicle has had severe maunfactruing defects in the enite srs ( safety restraint system). These defects are on-going. To date, the manufactruer has not complied with 2 wrtten requets via certified mail to replace the vehilce or to refund the purchase price. A friend who purchased an s-class car the same week has has similar problems with the srs system of his mercedes.

Sun roof parts have fallen off.
