Two problems related to brake light on have been reported for the 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Message display indicates left brake light not working. Replaced bulb and message disappeared for one day and then reappeared. Removed bulb and bulb was ok. Went online and found where mercedes had a brake light repair kit for this problem but I was not notified. I called the dealer and this repair kit is not under warranty or recall. I contacted a local european car repair shop who had the repair kit in stock going back to 2010 mercedes has known about this problem but never notified me or fixed the problem when I brought my car in for normal service. Very disappointed in mercedes.
My Ml350 has had a problem with the primary brake lights burning out. Automatically the vehicle is switching to the substitute brake lights. This is the second set of brake lights on the vehicle in less than 1-month. I just replaced them 2-days ago with a new set of sylvania bulbs purchased from advanced auto as per the vehicle make, model and year. I am concerned that the problem could originate from a possible short in the electrical system and/or poor grounding.
