I turned on the heated driver side and it cought fire I got burned trying to shut the fire off.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Mercedes Benz Ml350. The contact stated the vehicle's seat warmer for the front drivers seat was on when they noticed the seat overheating on the back of the seat. The contact noticed smoke coming from the seat as well. The contact stated that the system caused a whole to burn the contact turned off the seat warming system and the smoke and burning stopped. The fire department was not needed. The contact received a slight burn to their lower back. No medical assistance was needed. The contact contacted the dealership (james motor company located at 2440 richmond rd, lexington, ky 40502 phone number: 877-883-1006) who advised the contact not to use the seat warmer and have the vehicle inspected. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number: id1/0h0bj0 they also asked the contact to sign a waiver to replace the part of the seat that had burned, however, the matter had not been resolved as of yet.
