1 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2013 Mercedes Benz ML350

Failure Date: 09/04/2018

I was driving on the highway at 70 mph, the check engine came on and about 5 seconds later, a loud noise came probably from the engine. The car then started jolting back and forth; I hit my head on the steering wheel twice and got almost knocked out. The engine stopped while I was still running at 70 mph. Most if not all the lights in my dashboard came on then I started slowing down. The seat belt never tightened on me as the car was jolting. I kept the car rolling and got out of a very dangerous situation. As the car came to a halt, a lot of engine oil leaked on the street, maybe about aquart. I took a picture as I just got out of the car. Also, as the towing took the car, the towing bed got over a quart of engine oil that leaked from my car. I towed the car to mercedez benz of novi but they refused to take it. They ordered me to towed it out and tow it back to them two weeks later. I towed it to Mercedes Benz of bloomfield on September 6. I notified mbusa of this incident on September 7 and provided them access to check the car but they showed no interest whatsoever in looking at the complaint as the vehicle has 92,273 miles and is out of warranty. They instead offered me a $2,000 discount on a purchase of another vehicle. Neither the dealership nor mbusa verified the car for safety related issues on the engine or seat belt though it was and still is parked at the mb dealership of bloomfield. I could have easily went unconscious from the jolting and hitting my head on the steering wheel. I think there is a major safety issue that requires at a minimum for the manufacturer to look at let alone issue a recall for safety reasons on the engine and the seat belt.

2 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2007 Mercedes Benz ML350

Failure Date: 10/31/2016

Serpentine belt system. While driving on road at the highway speed, one of the idler pulleys locked up due to the failed bearing, leading to damaging/braking serpentine belt. That led to loss of steering (loss of power steering) and overheating the engine. Created a very danger situation and left my family stranded many miles away from home. Very costly towing service and repair.

3 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350

Failure Date: 10/22/2016

My 2006 merc Ml350, broke down on me 10/22/16, as soon as I got off the freeway because I was hearing a crackling sound from the engine. I was able to drive in a local parking lot to avoid embarrassment. This vehicle is always needing something, and at this time it was hard to turn the sterring wheel to park it because the serpentine (vbelt) had unraveled its way from the alternator pulley!! the lord had saved my life! same year in March fremont dealership said I needed to replace my air condersor but never said anything about my belt being worn or cracked or anything about this. This should have been noticed at that present time. They misinformed me at that time about the vbelt needing to be replaced and tried to sell me a air mass sensor. Mercedes knows about vehicle 2006 year and all the parts that are malfunctioning and wont lift a finger to recal or reimburse or pay entirely. I vould have died on tge freeway had this v belt wouls have came off! tookbitvin for repairs and the dealer is requesting $2350 to replace air condition unit and they will have to open up alternator & adjust + vbelt. Campaign anyone or botcott mbusa!!.

6 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350

Failure Date: 12/25/2006

The contact owns a 2006 Mercedes Benz Ml350. The air bag light beeped and remained illuminated. At 10,000 miles, the vehicle was serviced. Afterwards, the contact heard a noise in the rear of the vehicle while driving between 20-50 mph. The dealer test drove the vehicle and was unable to duplicate the failure. On December 25, 2006, the contact was involved in a crash and the air bags deployed. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was serviced after the crash. Three to four months later, the tires were losing air rapidly and the low pressure light illuminated, which indicated there was not enough pressure in the tires. At 20,000 miles, the vehicle was serviced. After the repair, the contact stated that the noise was becoming louder in the rear of the vehicle. She paid $600 for the repair and the dealer stated that they did not hear a noise after diagnosing the failure. At 26,000 miles, the vehicle failed inspection due to the tires, struts, shocks and a power steering leak. She called the sales dealer and they informed her to take the vehicle to a dealer in another state. The vehicle was towed two and a half weeks ago due to the power steering leak. The part for the repair had to be ordered from overseas. The dealer stated that they replaced the shocks, but the noise grew louder. The dealer also stated that the cause of the noise was due to the shocks. On January 24, 2008, there was an odor present and the noise recurred. After inspecting the vehicle, it was discovered that a belt was off track. The belt was adjusted and the dealer jump started the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again on January 28, 2008. The computer had to be reset, but continued to malfunction when the vehicle was purchased. The current mileage was 26,206 and failure mileage was 7,000.
