Left and right turn signals cease to work randomly while driving the vehicle. Turning the vehicle off and on makes the signals work again, but they cease to work after awhile. The dealer told me a false code causes this to happen. The dealer cleared the code, but the issue persists. This is very dangerous situation during driving. This happened multiple times in the past few months.
Power steering fails, when turning into a parking space or parallels parking. This has happen for years and I was told that it can lock up . It was at one time a recall . And mercedes mention to me that the recall has ended. I dont have the money to fight this . But I have taking the car to mercedes to diagnostics and they wanted to charge me 100. 00 . When I know this problem is part of the recall.
Ever since I bought this car used in 2017 I've been having problems with it since day one. I cannot believe they have not been any recalls on this car with all the wrong things with it it jolts out of control it's swerves from side to side in the power steering is just a total mess. When I'm at a stop sign it suddenly starts shaking out of nowhere and then with the car being in park is jolts back and forth. I went to a doctor's appointment yesterday I park my car like I normally would next to you nor I come out the car won't start there's fluid leaking and I believe it's the power steering. This car feels totally unsafe what up wrong purchase I made and I'm not know what to do I called mercedes and they said there's no recall there's nothing wrong with my car please help I don't know what to do.
Second year of this same complain. The dealership I bought the car from mention that the mercedes should be taking care of my issues. But that isnt happening. Mercedes just wants to keep charging me . I look up the defects of the car and it tells me exactly the same problem I am having.
Tl- the contact owns a. The contact stated that while driving various speeds the lane assist feature failed. The lane assist inoperable warning light illuminated. The failure happen intermittently. Mercedes-benz of novi 39500 grand river Ave, novi, mi 48375 (248) 426-9600, diagnosed and repaired the senor. The failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware but was not able to help. The failure mileage was 60,000. Nd.
While at highway speeds vehicle braked unexpectedly due to what seems to be a malfunction in the front collision warning radar. This resulted in a multiple near miss collisions coming from the rear, for many vehicles on i5 near woodburn or during high traffic times. The vehicle suddenly braked causing me to swerve off the road. Other vehicles includes two immediately following, there was a vehicle 6-8 car lengths ahead traveling at the same rate of speed with no braking, both sides were clear of traffic, no damage done seeking dealer assistance to decipher exact cause. Vehicle continues to have all safety features automatically turned off from computer. Vehicle was traveling straight with no braking needed nor wanted.
The vehicle sensors all started flashing, including the stability control system, parking break, temperature gauge, etc. The speedometer fluctuated wildly, the car would not shift out of drive and would not shut off. I was trapped in the vehicle, unable to shift the car out of gear into park or neutral and the car would not shut off. I had to keep my foot on the brake, but I obviously could not get out of the car while it was in gear and running. After about 3 minutes of trying to get the car into park I was able to turn off the engine. It was extremely scary. This vehicle is unsafe.
When driving on a local street between 25 and 30 mph, the car suddenly applied strong braking force by itself (my foot was not even on the brake pedal at that time). During that instance, the car also went out of steer. Fortunately, the car behind me was able to avoid me without rear ended into my car. I was thinking if the same thing happened on a freeway, me and my family could have got killed.
Takata recall Mercedes Benz notified by usps safety recall 03/16. No further correspondence or other action/s to indicate rectify of safety recall since. Mercedes houston north dealership visit 10/29/16 at which I purchased refuses vehicle return in light of indicated airbag recall, stating I cannot simply return the vehicle. Sales rep indicates such vehicles are taken as trade-in and/or sold to competing dealers like carmax which pays higher for unwanted/unsafe vehicles, but offers an assurance to assuage my safety concern that mercedes are more structurally sound than other manufacturers, namely Honda in which drivers/passengers died from takata airbag deployments. Rep further states airbag replacement unlikely since takata is behind in manufacturing due to tsnumai;processing new work as priority to safety recall/reworks. Unable to sell/transfer vehicle due to recall/illegality; would not anyway due to safety hazard which not only endangers, but kills, others. 1-wk after buy,left&right frnt prkng lights malfunction. Mercedes replaced/repaired fuse upon new wiringharness install under ext svc plan. Same left&right frnt prkg indicator malfunction w/in 45days after;replaced oem-bulbs blew. Left headlight replaced-oem blew. Aug/sept 2014 45k-mile reqd maint, dealer svc advisor said head&prkg light bulbs wrong type,restate fixed wiringharness still root. Head&prkg lights fixed w/out further wiringharness mention. New carbattery install Dec/Jan 2015 60k-mile reqd maint report to dealer svc advisor electronickey fail to unlock doors&engage ignition despite new batteries. All 2015 and continuing, left&right front bulbs,left head&taillight outages, spontaneous espfaults on dash malfunction;ignition delayed-start w/out dash warning in park/rear/neutral/drive position or at start/shutdown. Purchased 04/17/14 cert preown w/ ext svc plan ~36kmiles 10/29/16 ~103kmiles esp expired 100kmiles.
March 2011, I was heading home. I was talking on the hands free phone system, and immediately I felt a jerk and heard a noise. I looked at the control panel and the vehicle panel read "n" neutral instead of "d" drive. The vehicle automatically switched into neural on the freeway at 70mph!!!! at this point I am in the fast lane and hysterical. I pressed the gas and nothing happened. The speed decreased to 40mph and cars are now racing past and behind me. Luckily, a police officer spotted me and physically hit my car and moved it over to the side while I was in it. I explained what occurred as he yelled "are you crazy you could have been killed what happened". I asked him for a police report and he immediately had to depart. The next day, I immediately reported the incident to the dealer. The diagnosis was my control panel needed to be reset, an apology was given and test drives occurred. I was asked did I touch any buttons and replied no. They recreated the scene and conducted a test drive. The car did not shift into neutral even when it was tampered with while driving. On 8 may 2012, the incident occurred again! my car switched into neutral twice in 1 day! the second time I was at a stop sign. Today is 15 may 2012, and my car is with the dealer now. I am afraid of driving my Ml350 2008 model. Much worse, the dealer alludes to asking me have I touched anything. If this is the case, then a safety message should be posted, warning if you "touch" a button your car will switch to neutral while driving. I have a 4 month old daughter and bought the vehicle for safety. I explained to the dealer I should not have to wait till I am hurt or injured for something to be done. He stated "nothing is coming up on the diagnostics the system is very smart�. The dealer even denied there are any recalls for the ml 350 2008. I've hired an attorney.
Transmission codes do not switch gears happens alot how im driving have to get codes reset every 2 to 3 days !.
On n. Y. State thruway,on cruise control,brakes suddenly applied themselves. Abs and sls flashed on dash. Car suddenly decelerated. Turned off cruise control and pulled off. Attempt to start again and brakes applied themselves. After several tries ,@20 min. Was able to get car moving. Brought car to dealer who said some kind of brake sensor was defective. Charged for replacement.
