The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes Benz R350. While driving, the contact heard loud rattling noises coming from various parts of the vehicle, especially the steering wheel. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the steering column cup. The following day, he heard the rattling noise again and the sun roof malfunctioned. Initially, the dealer would not return his phone calls, however, they finally offered to retrieve his vehicle. The powertrain and speed were unknown. The current mileage was 1,700 and failure mileage was 300.
Steering is difficult to turn while at low rpm or at standstill. Steering turns easily while rpm is >800. This is an ongoing problem with mercedes r-class and m-class. Power steering pump needs to be recalled and replaced.
