Transmission Noise Problems of Mercedes Benz S550

My 2007 mb S550 base model stalled as I was merging on to the expressway in heavy traffic. After sitting on side of the road for 20mins, I started the car and it was making a whining noise and when I accelerate the noise gets louder. I drove the car to the nearest mercedes-benz dealership. I was told that the transmission needs to be replaced. The car has been serviced with mercedes and only has 100k miles. This will cost $7,800. 00 the service guy stated that this should not be happening on this car but unfortunately he stated that he has seen this before.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes S550. While driving 40 mph he heard a rattling noise from the front-end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the motor mounts were replaced because they fractured. The manufacturer was notified, and a representative stated that the there was no recall related to the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileages were 50,000. The passenger seatbelt would lock and could not be used. The transmission was stuck in park, the windshield wipers would move all the time no matter if it was sunny or raining. The doors would not close properly. After the radio was turned off, static noise was heard. The steering control module was replaced.
