Front hydraulic disc rotors are 1/2 inch bigger that rear rotors which causes rotors to warp. Brakes overheat, steering starts shaking, and front end will nose dive if vehicle brakes too hard, causing wheels to lock up. Dealer notified. Please provide more information.

Please contact me at 612-708-8155 to further describe the problem. Front tire rotors were shot after only 30000. This is highly unusual and unsafe for other Mercury Cougar owners. Would like to get 300 dollar reimbursement from Ford-Mercury for replacement / repair of rotors.
While driving 35-40 mph and applying brakes there was a grinding noise, and vehicle pulled to the left. Consumer inspected brakes, brake pad had ground into the rotor. Consumer replaced left front rotor.
Rotors needed to be replaced due to "wear and tear". Dealer recognized problem at 20ooo miles.
1999 Mercury Cougar has problems with the speakers, battery equipment, brake equipment and instrument cluster. ** answer required***. The vehicle pulled to the right while driving. The consumer stated on a separate occasion while driving she noticed the vehicle had no brakes, the consumer was able to find a mechanic who determined all for rotors and pads needed to be replaced. The consumer stated the brake light did not illuminate.
While driving brake disc rotors warped, causing extended stopping distance which may result in a crash. Dealer replaced brake rotors numerous times, but the problem has reoccurred. Please provide further information.
The rear brake rotors need to be cut due to warping. This is the first problem with the rear brakes but, the front rotors have had to be cut down every 12,000-15,000 miles since new. At 48,000 miles the front rotors could not be cut any more and needed replaced. They were cut three times before being replaced. I had a similar problem with a 1989 Mercury Cougar and Mercury did find a problem eith the rotors being to thin. After being replaced I never had another problem with them for over 70,000 miles. I'm trying to find out if there is any know problems or repairs for my car.

Within one month of ownership brakes and rotors failed (may 5, 1999) and again in (July 1999). Mjs.
Brakes began vibrating excessively at approx. 30,000 miles.
The brake rotors have rusted, resulting in car making noises and after the brakes were applied, the steering wheel vibrated. Please give more detail informaton.
I feel like such an idiot because I bought this car!! unbelieveable problems, and now I have to try to sell this car. I paid $16000 for this crap, and then I had to pay $300 because the rotors warped on my rear brakes, and then the track on my sunroof completley broke, and that is going to cost me at least $800. Ford/Mercury should be sued for making a totally crappy car. As you can see by the number of complaints on your website, something needs to be done about this!!!! thanks, rosie.
It has been in the shop four times for brake problems. The car shakes after 3,000 miles and the rotors need turning which costs 300. 00 each time.
The consumer believed the wrong rotors were installed on the vehicle, however the dealer stated rotors were considered wear and tear.

The first time the front rotors had to be resurfaced the vehicle only had 10,000 miles on it, than it was resurfaced again and finally we had to have new rotors installed. The same problem started happening again causing the brakes to wear, rotors resurfaced again, than new tires in the front were wearing out of rounds, now this will be the fifth time we have to have the rotors repaired (resurfaced). The steering wheel vibrates terribly when applying the brakes due to this problem.
Brakes vibrate, due to front rotors being warped.
