Automatic Transmission problems of the 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2006

: the contact stated that the vehicle shifted into reverse after it was put in to park. There was no accident involved. 2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2003

Dealer replaced automatic transmission at 49000 miles at cost $1,800 to the consumer.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2000

While driving up a hill shifting into second gear, and when moving pawl back to drive, it won't be able to do so. Also, engine will stall, and there will be no power steering or brakes. Then, shifting to neutral and moving vehicle so that it could start working again.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

The od light on the dashboard is illuminated and it won't go out unless the vehicle is stopped and restarted, the dealer has stated that no harm could be done with this light being on.

5 Automatic Transmission problem

Transmission surges severel times when going into overdrive.
