One problem related to steering idler arm has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving on the expressway, the vehicle suddenly changed lanes and the steering became erratic. Upon examination, the idler arm had separated from the steering link arm. There was no warning and the vehicle had recently passed a safety inspection.
