general problems of the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis

Five problems related to suspension have been reported for the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2000

Driver made a normal start from stop sign, on wet pavement, to interstate access, curved ramp. At 30 mph the vehicle did a 360 degree clockwise rotation.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2000

Consumer was having a bouncy & rough ride. Dealer said it could be the transmission. Also, driver's side seat rattles when getting in & out. Dealer has tightened the bolts. Seat is loose, and if in an accident it could be a risk. Dealer was replacing the parts.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/16/1999

1) vehicle too low. Speed bumps @ 3 mph causes damage. Also, front bumper damage est. $853. 2) suspension design defective: lose control on bumpy curves. Much worse than 88 same car or 89 Hyundai, etc.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/11/1999

While driving vehicle gently pulled to the left side. Vehcle has been lined up 5 times, tires rotated twice, and alignment checked twice, and front wheels were rotated. The problem continued. Please provide any further information.

5 Suspension problem

Vehicle pulls to the left, vehicle alignment completed five times, however continues to pull.
