The contact owns a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. After merging to the side of the road and exiting the vehicle, a trailer sideswipped the entire driver's side of the contact's vehicle. The driver of the trailer attempted to make a turn prior to crashing into the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified due to it being out of business. The failure mileage was 125,000.

2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2010

The contact owns a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that while sitting in an intersection with the brakes depressed, the vehicle abnormally accelerated and lightly crashed into another vehicle. The air bags then deployed abnormally, several moments after the crash occurred. The contact was injured by the air bag and sustained lacerations to his left arm. A police report was filed. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised that the air bags should not have deployed without a forceful impact. The vehicle was repaired. 3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2003

While driving the consumers wife loss control of the steering wheel and hit the rails on both sides. The vehicle headed into a ditch on the left side, the consumer yanked the wheel to send the vehicle straight but instead the went across two lanes and slammed into the median. The dealer was notified. The air bags did not deploy. At the time of the accident, the consumer was working the electronic passenger seat controls and the consumer wanted to know if there was any connection. The mechanic claimed the ball joint failure caused the accident, the ball joint had no grease.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2000

While driving slowly rear ended another vehicle. Upon impact, air bags did not fully deploy, just half way.
