Latches/locks/linkage Problems of Mercury Grand Marquis

The contact owns a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that the headlights and taillights were inoperable, and the trunk failed to open. Additionally, all the doors failed to manually lock, and while utilizing the key fob, the door locks were inoperable. The door-ajar message was displayed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 15v861000 (exterior lighting). The approximate failure mileage was 179,000. The VIN was not available.

Trunk latch on key fob does not require as much pressure as say the button to unlock, lock, or panic(emergency). At the slightest swipe over the trunk icon the release is engaged, the trunk on this vehicle has been left open and unattended several times. This can cause loss to an occupant who may be traveling with valuables. When entering a passage on the freeway such as a tunnel, the exterior bright lights turn on by themselves. The reason we know is because the highbeam icon becomes illuminated to blue on the dash panel.

First the driver window went out, passanger, and then the back and the locks go off when ever they want. My call has low miles for the year and it should not be acting this way. If I eould get into an accident I couldnt get out of my window if door didnt open and I know lots of people with the same car and having the same problem.
