Body problems of the 2008 Mercury Mariner

1 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. Upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. Also, the interior fender was rusted. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated she had noticed that the sub frame near the rear tires were were corroded. The vehicle was taken to collision center for body maintan and the inspector informed the contact that he noticed that the frame above the rear tires were manufactured with a foam like substance and when it rains or the vehicle was washed, it had absorb the water,which caused the corrosion to spread inside out. The inspector also stated that the bumper could eventually separate from the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they stated that they were aware of the failure,however, would not compensate the contact because there were not enough complaints regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000. Gb.
