The passenger side of the subframe has holes and will veer hard right when it brakes.
The wheel wells are rusted out in the rear. Of the vehicle.
Driving home from work in the pouring rain going 45mp, my hood flew open, busted my windshield, damaged the hood and a few other things, I could not see where I was going as I was scared did not know what happened I finally pulled of the road and sat there confused, apparently the safety latch did not catch , this should never of happened, so going on 3 weeks and 2,500 in damages and no vechicle later we cannot understand how this could of happened.
Rear hatch window hinges cracked due to the metal deteriorating causing the window to shift and become loose and subject to falling away from the vehicle. I had the hinges replaced on 1-25-17 prior to any accident that could have resulted. My online research shows Ford has not taken any responsibility for the defective window hinge laches.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked he noticed rust and holes on both rear passenger and driver side wheel well. The dealer liberty Ford brunswick (3101 center rd, brunswick, OH 44212 (888) 499-5134) was contacted and informed the contact that the warranty was only in effect for five years. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and no further assistance was offered. The contact stated the manufacturer referred him to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 43,500.
Rear hatch doesn't seal tightly, resulting in leak when it's raining- then because of leak (I think) the rear defrost doesn't work- and I'm in michigan! also, the sealcoat on the rims chipped/wore off? this resulted in rims rusting and when I had tires replaced, now the tire won't seal to the rim edge because of pitting. Now I have no rear defrost, a leaking lift gate, and have to replace rims because the sealcoat failure allowed my rims to rust. The lift gate and rear defrost failure happened a couple months after my warranty time expired (my car only has 25k miles on it); and the rim I just found out after replacing all four tires due to 'dry rot' (not worn down) from the car not getting driven all the time.
