Drivers rear shock rusted off the wheel well causing wheel to snap and metal frame to hit the ground while I was traveling 40 mph. At this time the other wheels locked up and started squealing causing loss of control of vehicle shooting me across lanes and hitting curbs on both sides. This was heard all the way inside a church and they came running out. If I had not been able to gain control it would have flipped. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service other than the tow truck attendant telling me that the car need to be junk because it could not be repaired. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, or insurance company as it only has liability insurance. A police officer did show up on seen to direct traffic around vehicle and did see the issue but no report was taken. There was absolutely no indication that this was an issue until a few seconds before it snapped and that was the wheel started to wobble.

My dealer says my subframe needs to be replaced, and controll arm at a cost of 3600 dollars, I don't understand why my subframe needs to be replaced, I've owned cars for as long as 20 yrs and never had that problem. This sounds like a manufacturers problem.

I recently purchase 2010 Mercury Mariner. There is a few errors appearing on the screen in front of the steering wheel. One of the error is "check fuel lines. " it also has an error about the tire pressure sensor. It also rides roughly, but the wheels are like new, so it feels like the suspension or shocks have something wrong with them. Also, there is a lot of play in the steering wheel when driving it. When I went to check on the recalls in the system by putting in my VIN, it shows that there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, these errors and issues are connected to the recalls for my vehicle. I am sure that these recalls have not been taken care of for this vehicle and they need to be fixed.

The vehicle ac unit water drains directly over the front sub-frame and rusts through the frame, at which point the front driver side suspension will collapse and loss of steering results. This problem was acknowledged for some escape vehicles, but not its Mercury Mariner equivalent, even though it shares same part/problem. Dealer refuses to cover repair and cust sevice suggested I contact NHTSA.

2 issues that the local Ford dealer said they could not assist. (jordan Ford)upper shock busing from p/s rear shock came out causing shock rod to make excessive noise and contact body, as well as rust from p/s inner wheel wheel. Only that location. Appears to be a rustproofing issue. Rest of truck in great condition. Soon to be a safety issue if I do not have repaired.
Steering wheel will freeze up while driving. Steel on steel horrible noise when driving. Shifter gets stuck have to put it in neutral to start it.
The front sub-frame has completely rusted out. We live in a salt zone (michigan). There is also visible corrosion throughout the exterior. We were driving and the front passenger wheel started bowing out and we started vibrating. We got to safety before anything happened.
I never received reimbursement for putting in a transmission. I was also never notified of any recalls on my transmission.
Brought the car in to correct a bent strut, put it on the lift and pronounced it undriveable! the whole back frame had rusted out. They pulled the inspection sticker. How can this be?.
