My vehicle was returned to me following a torque sensor replacement on 4/9/2026 in poor condition (locked steering and a catastrophic gash in the driver-side tire) rendering it undrivable and unsafe. Crossroads Ford of prince george shop's inspection report claims the tire damage was pre-existing, I have conclusive evidence to the contrary: virginia state inspection: my vehicle passed a virginia state safety inspection on 2/27/2026. Per state law, any tire with a gash or sidewall crack is an automatic failure. This legally certifies the tire was intact immediately prior to their service. Recent tire service: I replaced my rear tires at ok tire and auto on 3/30/2026. At that time, a full tread and sidewall inspection of my front tires confirmed they were in good condition. The timing of the dealership's communication confirms the damage occurred while in their care: I arrived for my 9:30a appointment around 9:25a. No damage was noted during the initial intake. I was in their facility when I watched a mechanic drive to the other side of the service parking lot without being informed of a "catastrophic" safety issue. I was only notified of the gash at the end of the day when the vehicle was scheduled for return. Their staff now deems the vehicle "unsafe to drive" for their own employees. If this gash were present at 9:30am, it would have been told to me before I left the dealership. The locked steering is a direct result of an improper torque sensor installation (which is the reason why I was dropping my car off to be serviced). My car was in driving condition as I drove it to the dealership for my appointment with no issues. I received a call from advisor sade gregory at 11:03 informing me that I would need a steering column now that is on backorder. At 11:13am I received a confirmation for car delivery to me then at 1:06pm confirmation that my car will arrive at my house at 1:15. At 1:20 sade gregory says my car can't be delivered now because its unsafe for them.

Drivers rear shock rusted off the wheel well causing wheel to snap and metal frame to hit the ground while I was traveling 40 mph. At this time the other wheels locked up and started squealing causing loss of control of vehicle shooting me across lanes and hitting curbs on both sides. This was heard all the way inside a church and they came running out. If I had not been able to gain control it would have flipped. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service other than the tow truck attendant telling me that the car need to be junk because it could not be repaired. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, or insurance company as it only has liability insurance. A police officer did show up on seen to direct traffic around vehicle and did see the issue but no report was taken. There was absolutely no indication that this was an issue until a few seconds before it snapped and that was the wheel started to wobble.
Last year in April I got the car , didn't have it for a week the power steering went out . I got it fixed . Here it is 2020 of August , the power steering assist came on . The steering wheel locked up on me . I don't have the money to keep replacing this same part . I looked into the recalls for the vehicle . I seen a couple , called a number I seen they said the recall expired. So I'm back to square one . I don't know exactly what part I need .
Defective part on the steering wheel was replaced at 111,000 miles, the vehicle is now at 176,000 miles and the part needs replaced again. Power assist mechanism. We have no power steering. Ford said they won't replace it, it had already been done. Need to know what to do next.

I purchased my 2009 Mercury Mariner in 2015! recently, as I was unaware of the recall with Ford a few years back, I've had front and rear bearing issues! also my ballpoints were defected and my control arms! my tire pressure sensor fault stays on! I've taken my 2009 Mercury Mariner to star tire's best one auto & tires and had my ballpoints, front and rear bearings, control arms, and front wheel alignment repaired totaling in $780! three days later on the date of 11/11/2017, my power steering assist fault came on! my 2009 Mercury Mariner was stationary and was extremely difficult to turn!.
Sensor in stering wheel is bad, also jerks when it shifts.
Tire pressure sensor fault. At startup, low tire pressure warning light flashes, then remains steady, although tire pressure is at recommended pressure (35 psi). Service technician indicates replacing faulty tire pressure sensor located on left front tire at estimated cost of $150. Customer manually checks tire pressure at least monthly.
Power steering stop working could not turn the steering wheel.
Vehicle has original michelin p225/65r17 cross terrain tires: dot sequence b93t, dot production number pymx 2908, with 55,057 miles. During routine oil change and tire rotation, shop discovered dry rotting between treads and fine-line cracking on all four tires requiring near-future replacement. Michelin six-year warranty expired July 2015. Vehicle is parked in residential garage; there is no known adverse weather exposure.
I never received reimbursement for putting in a transmission. I was also never notified of any recalls on my transmission.
As we drive when we go into a right or left curve it acts like the front wheels lock up for just a few seconds. I had a recall on it back in late summer I had taken it to tri-lake Ford in branson missouri they said they fixed the problem but is still doing the same thing. Please check and see if there is anything that can be don before it causes an accident or I get stranded beside the road. Thank you for your help.
Rear hatch doesn't seal tightly, resulting in leak when it's raining- then because of leak (I think) the rear defrost doesn't work- and I'm in michigan! also, the sealcoat on the rims chipped/wore off? this resulted in rims rusting and when I had tires replaced, now the tire won't seal to the rim edge because of pitting. Now I have no rear defrost, a leaking lift gate, and have to replace rims because the sealcoat failure allowed my rims to rust. The lift gate and rear defrost failure happened a couple months after my warranty time expired (my car only has 25k miles on it); and the rim I just found out after replacing all four tires due to 'dry rot' (not worn down) from the car not getting driven all the time.
