Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 1999 Mercury Marquis

Two problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 Mercury Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2000

When pressing on brakes, consumer has to push brakes harder to get vehicle to stop, pedal almost goes to the floor. Also, brake lining is letting out some kind of oil getting on the hub caps. The customer states the stopping distance is greater now than when the vehicle was new. The problem reoccurs frequently and the customer suspects manufacturer flaw.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 08/01/1999

From time of purchase when brakes are applied they squeak. Dealer insists that is a characteristic of vehicle, brake distance is normal.
