One problem related to front suspension lower ball joint has been reported for the 2001 Mercury Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driver side lower control arm / ball joint failed allowing the front wheel to separate from the car. Prior to this driver experienced squeaking from the front end and stiffness in steering/castor action at slow speeds not working.
