The contact's father-in-law owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that upon refueling the vehicle, her father-in-law noticed that fuel was leaking on the rear passenger side tire. The contact's husband then verified that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank was fractured and needed to be replaced. The dealer diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to state inspection, where it was diagnosed with evaporated emission system leak related to canister purge valve. The contact's husband replaced the canister purge valve; however the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

Tl the contact's sister owns a 2007 Mercury Milan. The contact's sister received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact's sister stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle failed to stop in a timely manner while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's sister took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who refused to repair the vehicle since the vehicle was under recall. The vehicle was towed to quirk Ford (540 southern artery, quincy, MA 02169) where an inspection was performed that confirmed that the brakes were defective as mentioned in the recall. Despite the diagnosis, the vehicle was not repaired because the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN number was not available.

While first driving my car from a standstill, I noticed the "wrench idiot light" on. The car seemed to buck as it went through it's gears. Also, the speedometer registered "0" at this time. Upon entering the highway, the car would not go into what I think is 4th gear. Several times, the car lurched forward and then throttled back to a low rpm, before responding to the gas pedal. Eventually, I could run at 55 mph @ 3000 rpm's, but it wouldn't shift any further, even when I went faster. At this time, the speedometer needle finally registered my true speed. A couple of times, the rpm's suddenly shot-up and then the engine throttled back. However, the car felt like it should have gone into it's final forward gear but couldn't. On local roads. It shifts extremely hard into it's gears. The whole time, the car's "wrench" light was on.
2010 Mercury Milan with 3. 0 liter v-6 build date March 2010. Car went into limited limp mode while it was being driven at less than 30 mph. This has happened on three occasions. Each time the engine drops to a rough idle at 500 to 900 rpm and the "wrench" light is illuminated. Engine does not respond to throttle input. Car speed drops drastically but steering and brakes appear to operate normally. (engine is still running an close to normal idle speeds. ) engine does not produce enough power to go up the slightest of inclines. After restarting, the engine the condition clears and car drives normally. Portable obdii scan tools do not indicate any dtc codes. Dealer replaced throttle body mechanism due to an intermittent short in the position sensing circuit. Dealer kept old unit due to core charge. This is a safety concern in that under many traffic conditions the car may be hit from behind or unable to move to a safe shoulder out of the traffic flow.
While driving at a speed of 55 miles per hour on November 2, 2013, and at a speed of 50 miles per hour on November 4, 2013, my 2010 Mercury Milan abruptly stalled and I had to pull over instantly on both occasions in order to prevent being hit from behind. On these two occasions, the car had to be re-started. I brought the vehicle in for service as soon as possible on Wednesday, November 6, to correct the problem, which was a defective throttle body that had to be replaced. The throttle body was no longer under the general warranty and not included in the power train warranty.
The car lost all acceleration on the highway. I was driving 65 in the middle lane and had to get over to the shoulder with no way to accelerate. The wrench warning light appeared on the dash. Turned the car off and restarted it and it worked fine for three days. Took it to the dealership and it is the throttle body going bad. This costs $420. 00 to replace. This is a terrible hazard as the only thing you can do is hope to coast to the shoulder of the road safely.
I was driving approx 60 mph on a highway. My car "jerked" forward once, and I completely lost the ability to accelerate. After moving to the shoulder of the road, my car was shaking and difficult to put in park due to the shaking. Car would start up again, but did not have the ability to accelerate except in low drive. Would not accelerate except in low. Had to towed to the dealership, where the throttle body needed replaced and kam reset. This is a 2010 car, fairly new.
Driving approximately 30 mph, the car coasted to a stop and the wrench showed on the dashboard. Waited a short while, restarted and it was okay. Did notice some lurching and the car felt like it was in the wrong gear, prior to the second incident on 10/07/20. Driving through an intersection at 30 mph, wrench showed on dashboard and car slowed to a crawl. I had to make it through the busy intersection and off ramp from a highway in order to safely get the car off the road. I could have been rear-ended both times, to say nothing about the fear of your car just conking out in the dark at 5:30am. The 3 year/36,000 mile warranty expired may 27, 2013. . . And my current mileage is 35,581 miles!!!!!!!!!! 111 days over the months and 419 miles under the warranty. . . . So, I am paying around $300+ to have this fixed. With all the exact complaints as happened to others, I am surprised Ford did not send a notice to owners to get it fixed or face the potential of being involved in a crash. . . Thank you.
My wife and I own a 2010 Mercury Milan. One day last week, as my wife was leaving work, the car suddenly lost power, sputtered and was not able go faster than 10 mph. The car went into the "limp home" mode. We subsequently took the car to the Ford dealership where the problem was diagnosed as a "networking problem" and was told that the throttle body must be replaced! now, I am told that there is a nationwide shortage of this part and it will be at least two weeks before the part will arrive! the dealer estimates that the repair will cost $750. I respectfully request that your agency issue a recall on these vehicles. I believe that this throttle body defect has produced a life-safety hazard and should be addressed quickly! thank you. Max a stewart.
While in the passing lane on interstate 81, the throttle body caused my vehicle to enter "limp mode". The engine rpm immediately reduced to idle and I coasted from the passing lane to the right shoulder. The engine continued to idle so I drove to the first available exit, entered a service station and shut the engine down. I called my local Ford dealer and they told me the throttle body replacement would not be covered since the vehicle warranty had expired.
2010 Mercury Milan hybrid suffered front end damage due to surge acceleration during parking. No floormat problem involved. . Unexplained rapid movement while brakes engaged. Damage to front end substantial but no one hurt. Mercury dealer/geico in process of repairing. Geico feels recall applies to this model.
Vehicle is a 2006 Mercury Milan v-6 premier purchased in September 2009 with less than 25,000 miles on the vehicle. According to car fax sheet, no accidents, no problems with car. Drove off lot electronic reader indicated 23 mpg and 27 mpg average. One month ago mpg went down to 16. 5 and mpg av 18. 5!!! then went back up a bit to 18. 5 mpg and now it is again 16. 5 mpg. I am furious and will bring back to colonial Nissan in feasterville where I bought my car. Huge mpg discrepancy between the us epa mpg and the current horrible mpg worse than my 1993 Nissan maxima which is 20 mpg! is it the ethanol in the gas? is it a problem with the gas/air ratio? also, noticed pedal acceleration issue. Lately not smooth acceleration. . . Can push pedal and no change in acceleration for too long a time. What is going on???? please investigate this fraud. Thank you. If it is simply an adjustment to the software then I'm okay with that but it the mpg is this bad I'm trading it in. . .
