Failure Date: 04/01/2024

I've been reading on all these recalls for my car and only one recall was fix which was when I took care of it but these past recalls on my car, and some of the recalls match up to the way my car is acting like and I bought this car used and I am concerned about the recalls and not being fix I would like to get my car checked for the past recalls on it bc I don't want to drive a car that has recalls that's not been fix and I do not want to put my life or anyone else in danger.

6 Wheel problem of the 2010 Mercury Milan

Failure Date: 04/25/2017

I just noticed that I now have a missing wheel stud and lug nut on both of my front wheels. This car does have the 17" steel wheels. There was a recall for studs breaking back in 2011, 11s23, and according to Ford customer service, the studs were inspected and lugs nuts were replaced before I purchased this vehicle in June of 2011. The car currently has 86,805 miles on it. The last tire rotation was just about a year ago at 75,114 miles and was done at the Ford dealership. At that point I paid to have one of the front wheel studs replace because they said it was stripped out.

8 Wheel problem of the 2010 Mercury Milan

Failure Date: 05/28/2016

The lug nuts came apart after about 50,000 miles. All 20 lug nuts on my vehicle came apart. The outer, chrome covers separated from the nut. This degradation of the metal affects the integrity of the nut and could cause a serious accident or injury if the nut(s) worked their way off of the wheel(s). I first noticed the condition when the vehicle was parked in my driveway and I was attempting to remove the wheels.

11 Wheel problem of the 2007 Mercury Milan

Failure Date: 11/10/2015

My vehicle was undergoing its 90,000 mile service and the technician noted that the rear two tires were cracked at the tread-to-tire interface. The next day, I took the car to the tire shop that installed the tires for an evaluation. They determined that all four tires had this safety condition and were replaced on a prorated cost. It was as if the tire tread could become separated from the shell of the tire at any time. The tires are yokohama avid touring s model. Had only 20,200 miles on them and only 2. 67 years old. This could have been a disaster at high speed for my son or daughter had this not been noticed. The tires have not been abused and were rotated at 10,000 mile intervals. I was expecting these tires to last 60,000 miles.

12 Wheel problem of the 2006 Mercury Milan

Failure Date: 09/20/2015

Was driving down the highway at 75 mph with cruise control set. The wrench light and traction control light came on , cruise control turned off and lost power and speed. I had to pull off into the ditch to avoid an accident and drive down the shoulder to a rest stop. I turned off the car and let it sit for for 5 minutes and the turned it back on and it ran fine. After reading other issues like mine I'm thinking it may be the throttle body or traction control sensors.

18 Wheel problem of the 2008 Mercury Milan

Failure Date: 09/15/2010

When going down to cincinnati, ohio, shortly after I purchased my Mercury Milan, in September 2010, I had a flat tire outside of akron ohio. (the car only had 3,000 to 4000 miles on it when I bought it & was kept in a garage during the winter, driven only in the summer months here in michigan. ). I had to purchase a new tire while in ohio and also purchased a warranty (lifetime) on all the other michelin tires. Between then and now, I have had no less then 15 to 20 incidents where the low tire pressure light comes on. I have never received a notification from the manufacturer, even though there has been one recall and three service bulletins issued for this vehicle. One of them involves the tires. My vehicle now has 32,000 miles on it and I am told I will be needing new tires shortly. How could this be? I've never had a vehicle that I only got 32,000 miles out of the original set of tires. I'm now suspecting that its possible the tires are leaking air due to the valve stem on the tire itself. I'd like to know why I've never received any bulletins or notifications on recalls. The problem lies either with the manufacturer of the vehicle putting poor quality tires on the vehicle or with the tire manufacturer. I'm on disability and cannot afford new tires. The car has only 32,000 miles on it & is driven gently. I certainly will not be buying michelin tires ever. One other thing, 2 of the wheels had corrosion ground off them in hopes that the tire would fit better, however, this has not solved the problem. Where does the problem lie? I was told by discount tire that it's simply a matter of economics that manufacturers made the decision that it's "quantity over quality" when putting tires on new cars. In other words poor quality tires are put on new cars?? apparently, this is the case when one needs to buy new tires at only 32,000 miles.

19 Wheel problem of the 2008 Mercury Milan

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer; however, the dealer has not diagnosed the failure. The failure has occurred for two years and it has become progressively worse. The contact is concerned that a crash could occur. The failure mileage was 25,000.
