Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2005 Mercury Montego

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Mercury Montego. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to crash into the rear of a second vehicle. Prior to the incident the engine rpms would erroniously increase and the vehicle would surge forward. During the incident the vehicle was destroyed and the front end sustained severe damage but the air bags did not deploy. No injuries were reported and a police report was taken at the scene. The manfacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 150,000. Jft.

My parents were involved in a head on accident with a drunk driver who had cross the center line, in which case none of the airbags were deployed. The bunt force of the accident was to the passenger front corner of the vehicle where the passenger side of the uni-body and the front clip support cross section meet. The vehicle is being moved to the nearest Mercury dealer. We have contact the vehicle manufacture and are awaiting a response from the office of general console for a response of investigation plan of why the airbags did not deploy. I am representing my parent do to my vehicle mechanical background.

My father age 81 was involved in a crash on 1-20-07 in wich he impacted the rear of a semi tractor trailor combo@ approx. 40 mph. The trailor had a bar/bumper extending across the back and down, and the impact was 18-24 inches off the ground. The airbag system did not deploy,resulting in multiple injuries to the head and facial areas.
