Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer

Failure Date: 02/22/2001

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at 25-30 mph. Upon impact, airbags did not deploy, resultingin minor injury. Manufacturer will be notified.

2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 07/22/1999

While pulling into driveway with foot on brakes, engine started roaring/racing and suddenly accelerated, rear ending another vehicle. Air bags did not deploy.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 11/18/1998

Backing out of drivewayconsumer moved shift lever from reverse into drive, vehcle suddenly lurched forward,causing a loss of control, resulting in an accident. Dual airbags did not deploy.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 05/13/1997

Consumer was involved in a 35 mph frontal crash in which the driver's or passenger's air bags did not deploy, resulting in two injuries.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

After a front-end collision at 25mph, the air bags failed to deploy resulting in driver injury.

6 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Consumer was involved in a 15 mph frontal collision in which the drver's/passenger's air bags did not deploy. Please give any further details.
