One problem related to side/window air bag has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Mountaineer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The side air bag indicator light come on while driving. The dealership indicated this occurred because of a high voltage issue with the side air bag control switch. The switch has to be replaced. The cause of the high voltage issue was undetermined.
