One problem related to windshield wiper/washer switch has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Mountaineer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front wipers stop working. This occurs abruptly without regard to weather conditions, time the car is running, etc. I have replaced both the motor and the switch. The wipers still fail. This is very dangerous.
