Failure Date: 02/07/2002

While leaving parking lot, accelerater pedal became stuck. Driver came to a stop by hitting other cars. Air bags did not deploy. Cause unknown.

2 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2001

Consumer noticed while traveling at any speed gas pedal would stick. Dealer have been contacted. Mr this condition increased to 2 to 4 times a day. Dealer could not find anything wrong.

3 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2001

I heard on the radio that there is an investigation into 2002 my Ford explorers and Mercury Mountaineers. I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer that seems to have the same problem. I have had it to the dealership several times and they refuse to admit there is a problem.

4 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2000

At 25 mph while applying gas pedal, engine revved, but vehicle slowed down instead. Took to dealer who found transmission needed to be replaced. Ford will replace it with remanufactured transmission. Traveling at 30-40 mph, the transmission slipped badly.

5 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2000
