"takata recall" painting, seats electric, light of the engine.
My driver seat moves back and forth and the interior indicator light comes on when I am driving. I have to stop and turn off the car and restart it so it will stop.
Mountaineer premier awd with just over 150,000 miles. Went to raise rear (third row) electrical seat on driver/left side. Makes a slight clicking sound and will raise up about 1 inch, then just stops going up with sounds still heard. Further investigation shows a motor in the center along a gear shaft which must raise the seat. The motor is whirring like it is functioning but the shaft doesn't move. There is no way to manually fully raise the seat.
While driving, dome light illuminated and driver's seat moved to farthest position back as if exiting the vehicle. This problem is happening more frequently while driving. This problem also happens when turning on headlights or moving gear selector from park to drive or reverse. It is intermittent, but happens daily. A person shorter than I, will loose contact with break and accelerator pedals. Tapping on keys may return seat to a more forward position. As an engineer, I see this as a manufacturer's safety issue that should be resolved by the manufacturer and not the customer.
My Mercury mountainers 2006 third row right seat got jammed while my son was seated in the left seat next to it almost pinching him in the seat and I looked at a couple of websites and it states many people are having the same problem I think they should look into this problem before some one gets hurt.
The driver seat motor messed up causing the to be stationary. The seat wont move forward and backward. The air conditioning on the driver side doesn't blow cold , the dash and radio lights brighten and dim sporadically and the third row seats don't work, the gear stripped out. Also, the bushings on the feont and rear have had to be replaced.
