I unlocked my vehicle, put the key in the ignition and it made a noise, then immediately after that failure to start, everything stopped working. No lights, will not lock doors, no clicking sound as if it were a dead battery.

My shifter continuously won’t come out of park. Multiple other people with the same kind of vehicle have posted on forums with the same issue. It’s happened weekly for a year or more. I keep getting told there’s a recall on it but can’t find it.

There is a known issue with the cluster panel’s relay that has caused my headlights to flash off and on randomly as it malfunctions.
The plastic that hold the visor arm on place crumbles. Both sides were affected. The outer shield plates seem ok it's only the piece that I can only guess, 'stabalizes' the visor when you move it from front to side of the car. It looks like they're about $30-$80 each to replace. This is a 3rd hand vehicle however the mileage is fairly low for this year at 127,408. These are not plastic pieces that are in the sun a lot, they aren't at all but crumble like plastic can because of sun exposure. There is glue in the photo that I put on as a temporary fix but it peels off easily.
Big o techs conned wife into buying 2 tires and we own awd SUV that requires 4 at the same intervals . I immediately notify them that this is not safe and will damage my car they continued for over 2 months to lie to me about having somemone comtact me . I have all the communications I've had with them through messages. A few weeks after they put the tires on and refused to take them off and put my old o ES back on and issue a refund well my transmission and transfer case failed I contacted them again and again they lied to me about someone contacting me . I took my SUV to the transmission shop we measured over 2 inch circumference difference. I informed big o that I have a TSB issued by Ford my employer that dates back to 2011 on tire circumference procedures for tire dealers to follow . The response I got was that big o refuses to review or acknowledge tsbs . That's alarming as tsbs are issued my the manufacturers for safety . I had my SUV fixed for 3000+ $ out of pocket and contacted big o the day I picked it up about the tires still being on there . I warned them this is dangerous and can hurt my new drivetrain the very next day from getting my SUV out of the shop the tires again caused binding to occur but this time it led to what should've been a fatal accident where as the awd system done it's job but the tires being off by so much made the SUV bind a three in into 3 360 degree spin and slammed the concrete median totaling my vehicle and injuring my wife. I've documented all messages with big o and have much more evidence related to this case that I'm unable to add in this description because I'm running out of allowed characters remaining . I did contact big o again and sent photos of my crashed SUV and suddenly they now won't respond back at all . I think this justifies a full investigation into there refusal to review tsbs and full reimbursement for all my.

Takata recall while my vehicle is in motion, & when I stop at a stop light, it's suddenly shuts off. This has happened several times while on the highway at highway speeds, & on city streets at normal speeds. It has proven dangerous several times. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the vehicle jerks very hard. Also when I drive for more than 6 to 7 miles at highway speeds, a tire pressure sensor comes on.

Takata recall air bag light stays on for no apparent reason. . . All the time grinding noises while turning left or right sounds like gears are freely spinning while engaged and driving. No issues with changing gears as far as mechanic says.

Muffler. Still has baffles and dampers. Catalytic converter is still attached. Not loud or obnoxious. Due to having a 3in in diameter tail pipe. I was failed. I was approved for the last 8 years at different locations. These new strict restrictions are costing consumers unnecessary costs. This was an unfair failure that was posted as a safety issue when it is clearly not. SUV was stationary and passed all over requirements. This was a judgement call by tyre trak in springfield.

I live in quincy, MA. When it snows or gets cold the car intermittently, majority of time in reverse, locks in reverse, self accelerating, and even when I brake it overrides the braking system. Last night it actually self displayed the 4x4 light on dashboard. When I mean accelerates, I mean uncontrollable acceleration.
Under my hood started smoking, I popped my hood to find flames under it. I had to get my kids out the truck and put the flames out with and extinguisher. That's when I noticed that my brake fluid reservoir was melted and so were the wires that connect to the cruise control switch. Not I am without a vehicle to get to work and get my children to school.

Can't register my vehicle because I'm told that the catalytic converter is not legal for use in California, and it is not available after an extensive nation wide search of different catalytic converter manufacturers. How or can you help me to resolve this matter.
I purchased this vehicle recently with only 40,000 miles. The car keeps stalling or dying as you may say as I drive. It will be okay for a short period of time and then just die right on the highway! once it dies once, the car will continue to do so over and over again until the engine has cooled down. I have the engine codes of p2104, p2111 and p2135 with a refere to p2101. I have brought it to several mechanics and paid well over $1,000 to fix this problem and it just continues. I am afraid my family may all die! were on 93 recently heading toward boston and my car died right at the intersection of 495. I had all my children in the car and it would not restart. I have fixed the fuel system (error code last time), had a complete tune up, and throttle sensor etc.
This was very dangerous!! right hinge broke which dropped right side of glass putting pressure on the glass which made it explode. Glass covered me with a few minimal cuts.
My power will stay on for long periods of time also I'm having an acceleration problem when I drive I have to wait for it to go to about 25 mi till 26 for it to pick up any speed it takes a very long time for it to pick up any speed in the 1st place.
The frame in back is rusting through. The back cross member at the rear bumper is rusted bad. It rattles all the time. Back sway bars are rusted bad.

Passenger seatbelt locks will not unlock unless you unbuckel the belt it just keeps getting tighter have a problem where the you push down on gas it won't do anything for a moment then jolt forward an the main problem it with the electric if you barley touch the ignition switch or controls for the seat the seat moves the ignition also not only moves the seat but a couple times it has shut the car off and once locked us in the car had to put the keys in and start to get it to unlock and once locked us out with keys still in ignition switch.
I was driving on the highway & stopped at one of the service stations along the highway. When I returned to the vehicle I put my children in the car, turned it on, put the car in drive hit the gas & the vehicle did not move. I tried putting it in reverse & nothing happened. The car would rev up but would not move. It felt like I had the car on neutral. Tried several times & nothing happened. I then tried to put the car on d3 & that is when it moved slightly. Park & drive do not work!! very dangerous had this happened while I was still driving on the highway, which is what would have probably happened. I was only out of my car for 10 minutes.
Rear tailgate window hinge broke while having the window only open and putting away groceries. Upon closing the window, the right hinge broke causing the window to almost fall off of the car. I attempted, with assistance from others in the parking lot, to push the window back into the frame and have it lock at the center latch. The latch is no longer engaged and I have attempted to push on the window to connect with the latch. I am not strong enough to do so. The window is at a point where it could fall off of my car. There was a recall on this part for 2000-2003 vehicles of this make and model. Ford is not carrying over the recall to 2004 stating the defect is not the same (with the details) as the recall itself. It is still the same defective part! I am of short stature and do not have the strength to push the window the 1" or so to get it into the frame to lock successfully. I have contacted my local Ford dealership for advice but have been told I would need to pay out of pocket. I am at risk of having the window fall off the back of my car and do not currently have the money to pay for this repair at this time. There have been several complaints noted for this equipment failure on this site for the 2004 Mountaineer. Just not sure what to do next. My vehicle is my bread and butter in order to work.
Started vehicle to go to work like every day tried to shift into r shifter broke of in my hand. Needs to be recalled. I am glad it happened in drive way. I live on highway and it could have broke after I was in highway shifting into d.
The retracing right step board will not return to closed position on the passenger side.
Rear door latch is inoperative. Also right front passenger door lock is inoperative.
2006 Mercury Mountaineer driving along around town or highway and will just loose power without warning after the fact then the engine light comes on along with a red wrench or an orange wrench, first place I had it to said it was a negative battery cable that was loose so they tightened the cable, took it home stalled out on me, took it to another dealer said was reading that it was the fuel pump driver module drove very next day stalled on me once again taking it to the Ford dealer itself said could be a number of things one is that the mass air flow has exposed wire which they will be fixing that and cleaning out the electrical throttle body and see how that is if not then they will try replacing the torque convertor clutch circuit for one this needs to stop being a guessing game I'm not a millionaire I used my 401k to purchase this vehicle, its such a huge safety issue while on the main highway and just up and stopped on me luckily I was able to drift over to the side of the road in the meanwhile with a tractor trailer coming up behind me with several other traffic huge safety concern Ford contacted by the one garage and they "wasn't sure" what it could be, well it stops anytime while driving anywhere such a huge safety hazard someone has to know something without having to just "guess" the situation. Also every time it rains the water seeps thru the sunroof and the overhead light you can see it came thru the liner itself when it dries up, so heartbreaking because I fell in love with this vehicle that I have only had for about a year and half.
Whenever I drive in town or highway, I have been having issues with the power train/transmission. It is constantly slipping and shift hard. I found out there was a recall on my exact year, make, and model. I called Ford about the same exact issue I have as described by their site. But my VIN# doesn't show up as one of their recalls. Which doesn't make sense. So now I have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket since they don't want to take into consideration that my vehicle is having the same exact issues as the other SUV.
Went to place something in the back and lifted the gate and the left side hinge came out and had to catch the gate from falling. Got my son to help try to secure it and the strut on the left side doesnt work so had to force it to close.
My spark plug on #2 cylinder just shot out of my truck's engine. . . Argh!!!! destroyed my coil pack and could have busted the fuel line. And now I cant put in the spark plug. Wtf. . . . . . . . ???????.
I was driving my vehicle and a light came on that said check the charging system, the car's electrical system completely crashed and all the electrical power to the car died and it literally turned off while I was driving it in the middle of the street. Now even with a replaced battery and alternator it will only start with a jump and continues to say the charging system needs to be checked. This is extremely dangerous. What if I were driving on the highway and all of a sudden (with no reduction of speed) the vehicle just turned off and stopped. No electric meant no powersteering, no abs, no air bag sensors etc. . . Very dangerous. I have checked several blogs and sites and I am finding a number of people are having the same charging system issue. I would like to return the company to cover the cost of repairs for this vehicle.
I recently decided to be #teamford. . . . Unfortunately I'm disappointed. My truck now has the o/d light flashing excessively. The truck goes in to 3rd gear but thumps & goes down into 2nd & then 1st. I was told the repairs will run me about $1800. I really wish I would've stuck with Chevrolet. . . . . I've used google to see is anyone else having this problem. . . . & yes they are. Ford should really own up to this & fix this problem our do a recall. This is sad. Boy do I miss my chevy. . . . .
Column mounted gearshift selector broke off when moving it from drive to park.
Rear hatch hinge broke while closing back glass of hatch.
Vehicle will not shift out of park. Shift is locked into park and will not shift to any gear and depressing lever button and brake will not release out of park. I purchased the vehicle from huntington Ford in rochester hill and bought the extended warranty and was told by fords service department this is not covered and would cost $500. 00 just for the part. After researching this problem I have noticed other complaints about this issue that the car will not move out of park. This seems like it may be a defect because I have never experienced this problem out of many vehicles I have owned for years.
Every time it rains, even just a sprinkle, water comes in from top of driver's side door/roof. It also comes in through the dome light and visor. My floorboard is flooded with water. I have tried to use a car cover and it does not work. I can not afford at this time to bring into a dealership. This problem is going to destroy this vehicle.
