Front Air Bag Problems of Mercury Mountaineer

-the contact owns a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer. The vehicle was parked, and when the contacts daughter, seated in the passengers seat secured the safety seat belt. An inadvertent deployment of the airbag occurred. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The authorized dealer was notified of the malfunctions which there were no resolutions. The vehicle had not been driven since October 9, 2009 due to the safety hazard. The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. While driving 10 mph, the front end of the contact's vehicle was struck by another vehicle traveling 70 mph. None of the air bags deployed. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The contact did not notice any differences beforehand. A police report and pictures are available. The current and failure mileages were 101,200.

The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. While driving between 10-20 mph, the contact swerved to avoid a dog in the road. The vehicle accelerated down an incline into some small trees. The contact sustained injuries to her back and struck her mouth against the steering wheel. The vehicle was destroyed and none of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 62,000.

Loss of control while driving 70-73 mph. Vehicle went into a rollover crash, and neither air bags deployed. Consumer states that this incident resulted in the death of her daughter.

While coming out of driveway at a very low speed air bags deployed hitting the consumer. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.

With brakes applied attempting to put vehicle in park, the vehicle lunged forward and was out of control and struck a light pole, went over concrete barrier onto next street, and neither air bag deployed. Consumer also compalined several times about the brakes.

While traveling in inclement weather there was a water pot hole in street. Another vehicle made a sudden stop and consumers son hit vehicle from behind. Upon impact, dual airbags did not go off. Consumers son hydroplaned hitting other vehicle head on then over to the right left side.

Upon putting vehicle into the garage throttle stuck & vehicle accelerated into the garage wall. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. No injuries reported.

When driver hit a metal pole head-on there was no deployment of the air bags. Damages totalled $5,000. 00. The vehicle is being repaired.
