Two problems related to structure have been reported for the 1996 Mercury Mystique. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Broken transmission mount brackets and broken bolt broke the vacuum hose resulting in no power brakes, this problem has occured on several occasions and the manufacturer has been notified. Nlm.
Rear reflector has been replaced and still fills up with water when it rains or when you wash car/told out of warranty/but never fixed correctly the first time it was replaced.
